Lika (6-year-old): Mom hugs me very tight in the morning to keep me warm. Then we have tea. Then mommy leaves me with a neighbor, and she goes “tormenting” the cow. - What do you mean - “tormenting“? Lika: Well, how to say... Well, so that she gives milk. Milking... Can you do that?? My mommy can! She is something! But I don't know yet how many cows she has to milk so that I can go to the dancing classes. I still can't count to that much. (Little Lika talks and gently strokes her mother on the cheek.) I never want candy. I never ask my mother to buy it... But sometimes she brings them to me herself. But I never ask. It’s true!

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

Lika: "Does your doll have tummy rumbling too when it's hungry?"

It’s true!

“I’ll do whatever it takes to fulfill your dreams!”

  - Maria, how do you torture the cows?

Maria: You know, you have to go to this to somehow earn a living. I help the neighbors to milk the cows, or to clean the house or the yard so that I can earn at least 10 lari a day. What else to do? Lika has only me. There is no one else to help us. She had never seen her father. He left me for another woman when I was pregnant. I already got used to it. It doesn't matter if I am dead or alive, but I’ll do whatever it takes to provide for my daughter.

- Do you get an allowance?

Maria: Our allowance -100 GEL - is spent to pay rent for this wretched room. There are not even any glasses in the windows. I inserted cellophane instead. When the wind blows, we are like on a sailboat. If you don't stick it well with duct tape, you can be blown away...

When the wind blows cellophane on the window it flutters like a sail

You have to stick it with adhesive tape every time

"I stick wallpaper with adhesive tape too... Sometimes they just peel off the walls."

  - How do you manage to live?

Maria: Well, “to live” is a strong word. We manage to not die of hunger and cold... I’ll try to explain. Lika was supposed to go to school this year. And I couldn't let her go. She has no clothes, no shoes, no bags, no notebooks. How to let a child go to school then? In no way. When your goal is to earn money for bread and tea, all sorts of “excesses” are out of the question.

Lika: I like being with my mom. Tell her not to worry. I learned to write myself. Look! And I learned to draw. I paint my mom. I think she is prettier, but that’s how can I draw so far. If I have colored pencils, I can do even better, and I will fill the whole room with my mother!

“This is the letter “a”. And this is the letter "e". Isn't it beautiful? "

“And this is my mom. She thinks about me, and that's why hearts have grown on her head "

Maria: You know, I had a fabulous life until I turned 22. I had everything - my parents pampered me. I had a lot of toys, and I thought that there is only goodness in the world and all people are good. Probably, that’s why my life got ruined. I blindly trusted a man, and he left me pregnant. I dream of one thing - to give my daughter at least half of what my parents gave me.

Lika: “Can you take me to the dancing classes too, Mom? Well, if you’ll manage to? If not, it's okay, no problem"

Maria: I am ready to work day and night to fulfill at least some of my daughter's wishes. She does not ask for anything, she does not even ask for a candy. When I buy her candy, she says that it is better to buy bread for future use... Can you realize how tragic the situation is? And she is only 6 years old.

- Lika, what are you dreaming about? If your mom had a lot of money, what would you ask her for?

Lika: First of all, I would ask her to make beautiful windows and remove this terrible piece of paper from the walls. You know, it fell on me once. My heart was pounding so hard - I thought it would jump out of my chest. When the wind blows, I get scared too and I hug my mother tightly so that the wind does not blow me away. It's cold at home, but mom is warm.

Maria: Oh, we only dream of warmth. I can only afford to turn the heater on before we go to bed. When the weather became cold, I paid 42 GEL for electricity and gas! Can you imagine? This is a tremendous amount for me. So, we warm ourselves hugging each other. In the morning we have tea, and then I take her to a neighbor, and I go to either milk the cows, or to clean up. Sometimes it happens that I don’t get even these pennies. In such days I only hope for God.

-  Maria, what do you need to make your life easier?

Maria: It would be nice to insulate the windows, have a washing machine, a refrigerator and a bed that does not fall apart. To have warm blankets and a mattress - now we cover ourselves with everything that we find at home. Sometimes we even cover ourselves with my mother’s old coat. One bed will be enough for my daughter and me.

Maria and Lika sleep on this bed, tightly hugging each other,

Lika: Can I “dream up” a TV and a tablet? And a stove to get warm?

  - You can “dream up” anything, honey. New Year is coming soon, and we have a lot of Santa’s friends in our Fund. They will pass your wishes to him.

Lika: It’s so good!!! I want a beautiful dress so that both my mother and I have the same. I also want a lot of sweets and colored pencils. And also so that my mother could milk so many cows that she could take me to the dancing classes! That’s it!

“Do you think I will make a good dancer?"

- Maria, you can address our readers! Tell them what comes from your heart.

Maria: I wish everyone happiness and health. I know that many kind people will take away a piece of bread from their children and share it with me. I know that there are many such caring people in Georgia. I also want to appeal to young girls. Do not rush to get married! Get to know the person well first and then take such a responsible step. And never, ever give up on your dream. I wanted so much to become a massage therapist for babies, I really wanted to put children with developmental problems on their feet, but alas... But my life went otherwise. But I believe I can do it for the welfare of my daughter!
