Damned poverty! How beautiful and tender they are! They ask for nothing… Such tiny ones, but sorrow has already settled in their eyes! Inga (mom): Every day I look into the hungry eyes of my three children. Is there anything worse than this? May the Lord protect you from such trials, kind people!!! But know that my little ones wake up every morning hungry and their tummies often hurt. Dry bread, water, and 500 grams of pasta once a day – that’s the daily ration for my three little ones. And my youngest son, 4-year-old Gio, has recently started losing consciousness and fainting from hunger. Oh, Lord!

Three children are fainting from hunger! Their daily ration of crackers, water, and 500 grams of pasta is less than a concentration camp ration!

Oh, Lord!

Gio (4-years-old): This morning I woke up with a stomachache. Do you (addressing the correspondent) also have a stomachache when there’s no bread? What do you have in your bag? Do you have candy or something tasty?  I’m good!…

Khatia (9-year-old): We don’t have a heater, so we warm ourselves with a gas stove, which smells unpleasant when it’s on. Smell it, aunt… When it stinks a lot, my brothers and I can’t sleep, and we cover our noses with our hands… We won’t suffocate from this, will we? What do you think? Why is it so stinky?

Gabriel (8-year-old): ‘In winter, I go to school in just a sweater because I don’t have a jacket.’

Gio (4-year-old): ‘Aunt, I don’t want my mom to cry, so I’ll never, never tell her that I’m hungry again.'”

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

Gabriel (8-year-old):And warm footwear. My bones ache from the cold. I hate rain because the soles of my shoes are detached, and when it rains, my feet get wet. Then I get sick, and my mom cries because she doesn’t have money for medications.   It’s going to happen soon. I love snow, but I can’t play with my peers in the snow because I don’t have warm clothes.”

Inga (mom): We live in this 10-square-meter rented apartment.  I pay 400 lari for it.  Half of the social allowance goes towards rent and utilities. Many years ago, a terrible tragedy happened to me. My father killed my mother. He served his sentence, but after that, we don’t communicate. The only reason I can’t end my life is because of my children. But what is the price of such a life?  Today, I had only 2 lari and 60 tetri to buy pasta. When the consultant weighted it, the scale showed 3 lari and 50 tetri. I asked her to reduce the amount of pasta by 90 tetri. The girl understood that I had no more money and didn’t take them off. May God bless her for this kindness. Now I’m gonna cook this pasta for my kids. My heart breaks with pity. How can they endure hunger and cold? There is no heater at home, so I have to turn on the gas stove. I have heard many times on TV how people are warned not to light a gas stove for heating in a closed room for a long time.

It’s life-threatening. But I have no other option. The children are freezing cold. Perhaps only mothers will understand how painful it is for a parent to see children suffering and not be able to help them. The only way I help them is by giving them my share of food. I will get by, somehow.

Kind people, will you allow these little ones to suffer from hunger, causing their stomachs to ache, and making them cry bitterly? The crying of a hungry child can be heard by God in Heaven. And what answer will we give to God later? How will we justify ourselves before Him?

People, remember that only goodness can save this world. Your children, your brothers and sisters, your grandchildren—they all live in this world. Your kindness will light their way of life— a lamp that will illuminate the path for you and your family members, even when it is dark around you.  Remember that the only way that leads to the Lord is the way of kindness.

If you are willing to visit the family and help them in person, here is their address: Tbilisi, 15 Ksovreli Str.

Inga: “The children are in joyful shock: they got more than they dreamed of!”

“We used to have two bad options: either to get warm with the gas stove and breathe in a lot of gas, or to freeze from the bone-chilling cold,” says Inga. – Thank you for the new heater! Now my children can stay warm without risking their health and lives.

The day we receive food assistance from the Chernovetskyi Fund is a big celebration in my family. The children don’t go to school or kindergarten; instead, they go to the store with me. They have never experienced such joy before – choosing the food they want. I want them to enjoy this moment, and I am happy too when they pick out items that we could not afford before: meat, butter, cheese, juices… I cry every time, feeling your generous and heartfelt assistance.

Gabriel: “My ‘Ferrari’ is definitely the coolest in the neighborhood!”

– Inga, there is no longer a smell of gas in the house.  It’s much easier to breathe now.

Inga: I thank you with tears in my eyes for freeing us from the ‘gas chamber’. The air in the house was so heavy and toxic – it was unbearable. We used to turn on our two-burner gas stove to warm the house up a bit, and then we ventilated the rooms so we wouldn’t suffocate, and sat with the windows open wrapped in a blanket. Now the children can stay warm without any worries. It’s true that you came to relieve us from our misery.

– What else was hindering you from living normally?

Inga: Oh, many things! We couldn’t sleep well on beds with iron mesh. The refrigerator wasn’t freezing properly. Life in our cheap rented apartment was quite gloomy. Now, thanks to the new bunk bed, we have more space.

The Chernovetskyi Fund staff unloads a new bed and mattresses.

And there’s even more indulgence (smiles). The kids really like this staircase leading to the upper bed. They hang out and climb on it all the time. Gabriel and Khatia say they live on the upper bunk now.

We now have a big, spacious fridge, and most importantly, it’s full!

Let’s wish the children that the food never runs out in the new refrigerator, and of course, we’ll do everything possible for that!

Khatia (9-year-old): The best day of the month is when Aunt Nana calls and says we can go to the store to get food.

– Our Nana, our social worker.

Khatia: Yours and ours. I don’t go to school – I can’t miss going to the store. I don’t want to miss having fun! On this day, you can even take shopping carts in the store, can you imagine? Because the stuff doesn’t fit in your hands. First, we fill the fridge with food. We can even take things we couldn’t afford before, like sausages, pancakes, chocolate yogurt… I ask Mom, “Are there any money left? Can we get a roll?” She smiles and says, “Yes!” How kind you are! You don’t spare anything for us!

Khatia: “Today is a holiday – fridge filling day!”

Gabriel (8-year-old): And I love putting food in the fridge, and then opening it to see how much food is there.

Gio (4 years old): And I love eating, not just looking.

Inga: Because they, poor things, used to just look before.

Khatia: If only Aunt Nana wouldn’t stop calling us! If only!

Inga: The kids didn’t expect you to give them so many things. They’re in joyful shock. To be honest, I was afraid myself, would readers be interested in us?

– Why, Inga?! Isn’t the story of how you lived a nightmare? Oh, how our people get used to all the worst and most horrible things!

Inga: You wouldn’t envy us, that’s for sure. But you have such heavy stories. Incurably ill children, people with cancer, indescribable grief! But what comfort, what gratitude, that there’s a place for us in your hearts too! That you don’t distinguish who’s in more pain, who’s worse off, but simply embrace everyone who’s suffering with your love and attention!

There will be hot water in the house! Hooray!

Gio is happy, he’s playing with the styrofoam. He helped unpack the water heater.

I cried when people came to our house, and now I cry from emotions. You gave me motivation, wings, hope. So many people came with groceries, with bags filled to the brim. They called, they wrote, some came straight without a call and asked the neighbors: “Where do the Lagvilava live?” That’s how I met Salome, and a week later – with four of her friends, who brought toys, clothes, groceries…

We got acquainted with two young soldiers. These guys and their army friends choose a family from the beneficiaries of the Chernovetskyi Fund every month and help them with various things. They paid for our utilities and for the rent of the apartment.

A huge thank you to Nika Tskhomelidze for the gas heater! My heartfelt thanks To all of you, people! You’ve cheered me up so much that I even found a job!

– Great news, Inga! You are making progress already. Where did you find it?

Inga: At the bakery in Didube. I help in the kitchen cutting vegetables, sorting greens, grinding cheese… They pay a little, but I’m glad I can bring something to the kids, to my hungry little birds.

I have another good news for you. Thanks to your letter to the People’s Defender, social services came to us. They helped enroll Gio in a kindergarten near our home, right next to the “Sakartvelo” cinema. There weren’t any spots available before, we applied in the middle of the year when we moved here. And then the kindergarten director called me and said: “Lagvilava Gio is accepted.”

Gio: They serve soup with meat, fish, cocoa, and a banana there. And I like the teacher.

Khatia: He found himself a good spot! (Laughs.)

Inga: The Nadzaladevi district administration can pay for the rent of our apartment. The social services will take care of it for us.

– That’s exactly why we write letters to various authorities. We wish the issue to get resolved soon!

Khatia: Are you done talking with Mom yet? I want to show you my space puzzles. Gabriel and Gio are helping me put them together, but you can help too. You haven’t seen my tablet yet either.

Khatia: “Stop talking to Mom, come see my new tablet! I’m already on Instagram and TikTok. Let’s check out my profiles.”

Gio: First, check out my Spiderman.

Gabriel: And will you come outside with me?  Have you seen me riding my new bike?

Gabriel: “Let’s go to the yard! I’ll show you how I ride along our street.”

Alright, let’s go see the gifts!

It’s so heartwarming to watch the kids having fun and smiling. And it’s even harder to think about the fact that it’s only temporary until the problem of hunger arises again. Let the mood of Gabriel, Gio, and Khatia not depend on what’s in the fridge. We can always help this family with food at any time.

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better call any of our beneficiaries, and all your problems will seem unimportant to you, compared with the problems of those to whom you helped in the most difficult moment of their lives.

Our problems are nothing if compared… Here are true misfortunes, in front of your eyes! Just thank the Lord for what you have. You are the happiest person in the world! Remember this and help those in need.

Unfortunately, problems of this and other families do not end here and now… Therefore, from time to time, look through the stories of unhappy people on our website, talk to them. Every time you dial the Phone of an unhappy person, God is blessing you! For sure! Go on helping these families! This is the best service to the Lord!

Friends, there is one more request: if you know about the misfortune of a neighbor or friend do a godly deed, drop us an email at: office-fsp@fsp.ge.

Your kindness is a chance for yourself to be happy!

Friends, thanks again to each of you!
