Not a single day of happiness! Abandoned by her parents right after her birth and brutally beaten by her sadistic husband, a beautiful mother of two beautiful and good children, a modest and hardworking Georgian woman, Iamze, asks us to ensure that at least her children do not repeat her fate.

calendar May 21, 2024

Iamze (the mother of these two adorable kids!): “I’m an orphan with living parents! My children have no grandparents. My husband is in prison for the second time! He deceived me when we got married. At first, he stole, and then he turned out to be a sadist and beat me so hard in front of the children that now I’m very afraid for their mental health! And I understand: he came to me because of housing and wanted to kill me! And the children… He never loved our children! He would give them away to strangers. Such children!!! I’m not asking for anything for myself, but I won’t be able to live if my children are not saved from hunger and cold in winter! They shouldn’t repeat my terrible fate!”

– Iamze, you have such an exhausted face. Tell us about your life.

Iamze: I am almost inanimate. I have spent my whole life being insulted and humiliated. I have suffered so much… Now I am all alone with my children in front of you! Neither I nor my children are needed by anyone in Georgia! How is that possible? Look at them. Aren’t they full-fledged citizens of Georgia?! Doesn’t the country need them? Why are they being treated like this?

Iamze: The children are always hungry, without a change of clothes, without toys, without anything at all. My daughter is one year older, and she already feels this inequality. She feels embarrassed! But why? What have they done wrong? Who have they offended?! Why do they suffer from hunger and horrible cold in winter, why are they humiliated?!

This is our food for the three of us for a day! Why are my little ones fed worse than animals? What is their guilt before the state they are proud of and love?! What is my guilt? I work as a janitor at the cemetery, despite my disability. But I’m categorically not allowed to lift anything heavy! What if I die? Oh, Lord! Forgive me (addressing the correspondent), you and the Fund’s friends have nothing to do with this!

– Why didn’t you leave him?

Iamze: Where would I go from my own home? This house, if it can be called that, was left to me by my stepmother. And now I understand that he lived with me to kill me and keep the place for himself! Sending the children to the orphanage! How could he do this to my angels?!

– My hair stands on end! How does the world tolerate such people? And how can this place be called home?

Iamze: You haven’t seen it in winter yet. Wind blows through the windows, through the doors, all my pension went to utilities, so the children were hungry. Only one portion from the canteen was our food or a plate of lunch that neighbors sometimes gave us… That’s how we survived the winter.

“It’s impossible to insulate windows without glass. They leak and rain pours through them.”

– How long has your husband been in prison?

Iamze: This is the second time already. Before, he was in for theft. I thought he’d get out, calm down, come to his senses… But no, he started drinking and became a sick sadist! Recently he was sentenced, I don’t even know how many years they gave him.

– How do you survive, Iamze, what does your allowance cover?

Iamze: I’m disabled, second group, and I receive a pension. Sometimes I also clean cemeteries. I take good care of the children, I’m a good mother. I’ve suffered so much from lack of love that I want to give all my love, all my warmth to my children… I try to make sure they don’t suffer, but with our income and these conditions, it’s impossible.

Mari (7-year-old): “I watch the children play from the balcony. I can’t play with them. I don’t have any toys.”

Mari (7-year-old): I don’t even have dolls – my mom can’t buy any.

Lazare (6-year-old): I don’t have anything either… just pasta!

– What’s your favorite food, Lazare?

Lazare: I don’t know. Other than pasta, I don’t think I’ve ever tasted anything. You know, I want to watch cartoons so much….

Mari: One doll will be enough for me. Mom, can I ask for a bicycle?

– Ask for everything you dream of, Mari. All of Georgia is your country – it loves you! You’re so good!

Lazare: Can we have lots and lots of sugar at home? So it never runs out, and we can drink sweet tea? Sometimes I sprinkle sugar on my tongue and it’s like I’m eating something tasty. And our house is scary.

– Yes, it’s really scary. The door doesn’t lock, there are gaps in the windows, mold…

Iamze: And the sink has no pipe, and there’s no water… And do you think it would be safer for us outside? I have kind neighbors here. When the social allowance runs out and we don’t even have money to buy bread, they feed my children. Sometimes they even give us their clothes. If we had a TV, it would brighten up these gray days for the children. At least they could watch something beautiful.

“That’s all our wealth… And just one broken bed.”

– Iamze, what would make your life a little bit easier?

Iamze: I don’t know. Look: I can’t clean the house. No matter what I do, it’s still dirty. I’d love to change the windows and get proper front doors. I’d buy beds for the kids and shoes, refrigerator and groceries.

– Have you ever had a nice life? Is there any memory that brings you joy?

Iamze: I can’t recall… I don’t even have any childhood photos. No one ever took me for walks in the park. I never received any gifts. And I never had any toys…

“That’s our front door. It could easily be knocked down with one punch… The little one gets scared at night. It even opens by itself sometimes, when it’s windy! It’s really dangerous.”

“Please, never abandon your children! They need your love more than anything else in this world.”

– Iamze, is there anything you’d like to say to our readers?

Iamze: Yes, of course! The only thing I want to ask everyone is: please, don’t abandon your children! Children should be with their parents! Neither aunts, uncles, nor other relatives can give what a mother can give. I might not be the best mother, I can’t spoil my children like others do, but I love them. I will never leave them. No matter how difficult it gets for me, I won’t abandon them. Do you hear me? Never abandon them. If you can help, help my children so they don’t feel like strangers in their own country! But personally, I don’t need anything and it’s shameful to ask! I’m not asking for myself! And if I’m no longer here someday – remember my children!

“Then God will never leave you either! And be happy with your children and loved ones!”

– From now on, you’re not alone! Consider that you’ll have many friends!

Iamze: I hope to God! Honestly, I don’t believe in anything good. Sometimes it seems to me that some people are born to suffer, that they don’t deserve happiness. I don’t have it… But my children must be happy!

God won’t abandon you, kind people. Do good, and you’ll be close to Him.

This is where we end our story. It is simply impossible to convey in words all the pain and horror. You can’t show it in pictures. You can visit the family yourself. Their address is: Kaspi, 66 King Mirian Street, apartment 8. But be warned: the faint-hearted should not go there!

Iamze and her children do not need just help and support … They need to be saved! They are dying a slow and certain death. Beds, bedding, windows, a door, a refrigerator, and a TV set – that’s what they need now. And it will be great if we make the children happy with toys and goodies!

Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone’s prayers through you!

We are sure that all together we will manage to save this family from imminent death.

Marikuna: “And our presents keep coming, you know? We have another package on the way from aunty who emigrated ftom here. Hooray!”

“I invite you to visit us,” says Marikuna. “Come and film us again, okay? Last time, when you filmed me and my little brother, I was wearing an old dress. And we didn’t have windows on the balcony, and there was an old bathtub lying there.”

And now we have windows, brand new ones, and we threw away the old bathtub. If you come, auntie, I’ll treat you to marshmallows, I keep them in my fridge. And I’ll also treat you to sausages. Will you come?

– Of course, I’ll come!

Film me and Lazare on the balcony again – in our new clothes. We’ll be smiling and waving at you.Iamze:

Iamze: “The empty, uncomfortable apartment turned into a normal home within a month. We rejoice with the children and thank you with love.”

– Iamze, where did the bundle of clothes that was under the table in the kitchen go?

Iamze: I washed everything and put it in the new dresser. It no longer bothers my eyes or spoils my mood. The children’s clothes and the bedding are all on their own shelves. I put the fridge in the living room, where there’s the most space in our small apartment. It matters to me, and makes me happy that I have it, not where it stands. It’s already so hot and stuffy, but none of my food is spoiling.

Iamze: “There’s no longer a bundle of children’s clothes on the floor – everything has been put away in the new dresser.”

Marikuna (7-year-old): Do you want a marshmallow? I’ll bring you a cold one from the fridge right now. Or should we go together? You haven’t seen our fridge yet. Come on! (takes me by the hand). See, there’s so much in here!

Marikuna: “Do you want a marshmallow from the fridge? We have so many things in there.”

– It’s great, sweetheart, that you have so much stuff!

Iamze: The Chernovetskyi Fund asked me what groceries to buy? And they brought everything I asked for, I’m speechless!

Lazare (6 years old): They brought us some shashlik.

Marikuna (laughing): It wasn’t shashlik at first, they brought pork, and Mom made it into shashlik.

Lazare: Okay, it was pork. But it was so delicious! (closes his eyes). Mom makes shashlik in the pan, not on skewers. I also liked the fried chicken. All the dishes get an A+.

Marikuna: Was it you who sent three men with food to our place?

Lazare: They sent them. Before, strangers never came to us with food.

– Kids, these are friends from the Chernovetskyi Fund who came to see you after hearing your story.

Iamze: I am very grateful. They came from Gori. They came with their children. They bought us a lot of things – grains, khinkali, sausages. They spoke warmly and kindly with Lazare and Mari. And this Sunday a parcel from abroad will arrive in Kaspi.

Marikuna: We can’t wait, we hope Sunday comes soon! It’s from an aunty. What’s her name, Mom?

Iamze: Our emigrant.

– And what’s in that parcel, who knows?

Marikuna: There are clothes and sweets coming for us all. Hooray!

Let’s go sit on my new bed, and I’ll show you my tablet. Here, sit down, do you want to take off your sneakers and lie down? I allow you, because we’re friends.

– It’s very soft to sit.

Marikuna: And it’s even better to sleep on. I sleep curled up on it. And Lazare likes to put his hands under his head and sleep like that. And now, I don’t even feel lazy to go to bed when night comes – I actually look forward to it. Remember how I liked your phone last time? My tablet takes good pictures, too.

Marikuna: “Sit on my bed, and let’s look at my new tablet.”

Iamze: “Right now, the balcony door is open because it’s hot. But I can’t get enough of these new windows and doors, and I’m relieved that we’re ready for winter. The workers did everything in just a few hours, right before our eyes.”

Iamze: “They installed the windows and doors and assembled the new bed right before our eyes in just a few hours.”

I will never forget the care and respect people showed us. It greatly influenced my mood—I’ve become happier and more at ease, and my thoughts are lighter. Before, I only imagined bad things ahead, often feeling nervous and anxious. I’m happy that our house now feels like a home. You’ve given me a huge incentive to not fall into despair.

– What would you like to wish friends of the Chernovetskyi Fund?

Iamze: The best life in the world! The greatest and purest joy!  May no misfortune ever touch them, and may the Lord protect and keep them safe! I wish it now and I will wish it always.

Lazare: May they always have candy, just like me. And always be in a good mood.

 – I really like Lazare’s wishes too!

Lazare: I’m going to ride my bike in the yard now, and do you know where I’ll put my candies?

– Not yet.

Lazare: I’ll put them in the trunk” (he calls the basket on his bike ‘the trunk’, ed.)  and when I want, I’ll take them out and eat them.

– A great bike ride with candies!

Two pleasures at once: first the bike, and second the candies in the ‘trunk’.

It’s tough and heartbreaking to talk with children who have nothing. The greatest happiness is when a child is joyful, content, and surrounded by care and love. This time, talking with them was easy, thanks to you – dear friends of the Chernovetskyi Fund!

This family needs to solve the problem with plumbing; the children currently have nowhere to bathe.  They also need another drawer for their belongings. A huge thank you if you decide to help, and for everything you have already done!

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better call any of our beneficiaries, and all your problems will seem unimportant to you, compared with the problems of those to whom you helped in the most difficult moment of their lives.

Our problems are nothing if compared… Here are true misfortunes, in front of your eyes! Just thank the Lord for what you have. You are the happiest person in the world! Remember this and help those in need.

Unfortunately, problems of this and other families do not end here and now… Therefore, from time to time, look through the stories of unhappy people on our website, talk to them. Every time you dial the Phone of an unhappy person, God is blessing you! For sure! Go on helping these families! This is the best service to the Lord!
