Luka is just one week old. The baby cries endlessly from hunger. He doesn’t get enough milk, but his parents have nothing to feed him with—they are too poor to buy baby formula. It’s hard to understand someone else’s pain if you’ve never experienced anything like it yourself. Think about it! What if, God forbid, it were your children starving?  How would it feel to see your little son or daughter crying from hunger? The only food in their home is bread brought from a free canteen. But should this be the diet of a breastfeeding mother and her children?

Newborn Luka cries and screams bitterly from hunger! “Milk, milk, Mommy,”—it’s as if Luka is calling out to all kind-hearted people to save him from hunger! He’s just a tiny baby, but God is already whispering to him: “Cry louder, my son, cry louder. Soon you will have plenty of baby food because you are a son of Georgia!”

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!

This is Luka’s older sister, Mariam. Mariam was born with a heart defect.  She was only 10 months old when she underwent heart surgery.

And imagine this: even though it’s been 10 years since the surgery, her parents haven’t been able to take her for a follow-up examination. Her mother grows increasingly worried about Mariam’s condition. She notices that even the slightest physical activity makes her unwell. We, dear friends, can be the support this little girl needs to give her a chance for a healthy and happy future!

Poor Mariam doesn’t complain about feeling unwell and never asks for anything extra because she knows her parents don’t even have enough money to feed her baby brother.

– How can we help?

Ketevan (38 years old): First and foremost, we would be grateful for food. I can’t bear to see my children go hungry. Do you know what my little ones had on their New Year’s table? Beans, pasta, and buckwheat… And even that wasn’t bought by us—it was aid provided by the state. We don’t even have hot water in the apartment we’re renting. You can imagine how hard that is for a family with a newborn. We wash the dishes in freezing water, right in the bathroom. We desperately need a heater.  The apartment is freezing cold, especially at night. We don’t have a washing machine, a fridge, or anything. I don’t know if there’s a family more in need than ours!

This garage is where the family with three small children lives.

They don’t have enough beds, so six-year-old Barbare has to sleep directly on the floor.

There isn’t even a wardrobe for clothes. The clothes are stored in bags.

Right now, the family does not even get social allowance because they recently moved to a new place. The only thing keeping them afloat is Ketino’s mother-in-law’s pension. Her husband works as a taxi driver. But since he doesn’t have his own car, he has to pay 50 GEL every day to rent one. Whatever he earns beyond that, he brings home.

Most days, his earnings are just enough to buy diapers for the baby.

Ketevan: If we can’t pay the rent, we could be evicted. Lord, where would we go this winter with three small children? (She weeps.)

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

Manuk, the father: “Look at how happy my daughters are, and how my wife is glowing! Your project brings happiness to families!”

The Manukyan family’s home is a former store. Right after being discharged from the maternity hospital, Luka’s mother, Keti, returned to this freezing space with her newborn. The baby had no diapers, no crib, no hot water—and cried his heart out from fear and distress. Luka’s sisters, Mari and Barbare, had no warm clothes or shoes. Barbare had only the cold tiled floor instead of a mattress, and the bare walls instead of a TV.

This is how Barbara used to sleep! On the icy floor!

We had a long shopping list for this family—furnishing their home from scratch! Appliances, furniture, food, and clothing. Luka’s first joy was peacefully falling asleep in his new crib. Meanwhile, Mari and Barbare celebrated, welcoming each gift with excitement.

Mari: This morning, the room was empty—just our bags with clothes on the floor. And now we have a fridge, a washing machine, a gas stove,a TV…Cool!

— Barbare, how will you sleep in your new bed?

Barbare (5 years old): I’ll curl up like this, and my back will be soft and warm. I won’t have a runny nose, and I won’t catch a cold. Wait… You’re confusing me! We have hot water now! Mom will bathe me first, dry me off, and give me a new pajama. Then she’ll make tea in our new kettle. Then I’ll watch TV with my toys. And when I start yawning, I’ll take them to bed with me and fall asleep.

Barbare: “I’ll curl up like this on my new bed, and my back will be soft and warm.

I also love my new dresser! It’s just my height, so I can put my things in it myself. And the wardrobe is Mari’s height—she can use that one. Mari, stop! Why are you putting your clothes straight into the wardrobe from the bag? You need to fold them first!

Barbare: “A dresser is just my height, so I can put my things in it myself

Barbare: “Wait! Don’t open a single box without me! Uncle, you peel off the plastic, and I’ll shout—refrigerator!!!”

Ketevan (the mother): I’m 38 years old, and I swear, this is the first time in my life that I’ve received such incredible help! I learned about the Chernovetskyi Fund on Viber and thought—I’ll give it a try. Our situation was desperate. I had just come home from the hospital after a C-section and was washing clothes in freezing water. Luka, my tiny baby, was shivering, turning blue from the cold…The Fund responded immediately and started solving our problems.

Baby Luka warmed up and fell asleep peacefully. For a little one, happiness is comfort.

Manuk, the father: Your project brings happiness to families! Look at how happy my daughters are, and how my wife is glowing! Now Mari is off to conquer TikTok with her new phone. She can’t wait to call her friends and chat. Go ahead, sweetheart, let them celebrate with you. Keti, what do you say—should I finally throw out your cracked blue washbasin? We’ll finally get to know the taste of a normal life—look at this amazing washing machine!

Tears now last only a couple of minutes—because there are plenty of diapers.

I thank all the kind-hearted people with all my heart and soul! You’ve given us a real celebration. My little son doesn’t understand yet—he’s in a warm bed with a diaper on, and that’s all he needs. But when he grows up, I will tell him. Such things must be remembered. And my daughters—they are the living witnesses of your kindness.

Mari (11 years old): You’ve given us so much! This morning, the room was empty—just our bags with clothes on the floor. And now we have beds, a gas stove, a fridge, a TV, a washing machine, a table… I wish all the friends of the Chernovetskyi Fund success and good fortune! May you keep doing this wonderful work and help many more families in need.

Barbare: “I’ll have some tea from the new kettle, and then I’ll sit with my toys and watch TV.”

Ketevan: These are tough times—our social allowance has been suspended. When Luka was born, we changed our place of residence, and now they need to recalculate our points. Your food aid came just in time! The Fund’s friends visited us several times with groceries. I was overjoyed—moved to tears! And just as you saved us, may kindness return to you many times over!

Children will be able to bath at home instead of visiting relatives.
Keti will be able to wash dishes with warm water

— What kind of help do you need now?

Ketevan: Our housing situation is uncertain. The owner of this space—this former store—has already reminded us twice about paying the rent on time. It’s 600 GEL per month. For now, the state isn’t covering it. We’re very afraid that we’ll be forced to leave.

I also want to ask for something else. My eldest, Mari, urgently needs a heart ultrasound. She had heart surgery for a congenital defect when she was 10 months old. Since then, we haven’t checked her condition. I’m worried. She often complains about shortness of breath, chest pain, and getting tired quickly. I don’t believe in self-diagnosis—she needs to see a doctor.

This struggling family received tremendous support during their hardest times. It’s truly amazing! Now, let’s make sure Mari’s little heart beats strong and doesn’t cause her any more worries.

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better call any of our beneficiaries, and all your problems will seem unimportant to you, compared with the problems of those to whom you helped in the most difficult moment of their lives.

Our problems are nothing if compared… Here are true misfortunes, in front of your eyes! Just thank the Lord for what you have. You are the happiest person in the world! Remember this and help those in need.

Unfortunately, problems of this and other families do not end here and now… Therefore, from time to time, look through the stories of unhappy people on our website, talk to them. Every time you dial the Phone of an unhappy person, God is blessing you! For sure! Go on helping these families! This is the best service to the Lord!
