Friends, a real miracle has happened: 26-year-old Guram Khachidze, who was barely clinging to life when our reporter first visited him in the clinic, is now opening his eyes. Doctors had to remove part of his skull, but at the time he was too weak for an implant. 

Just recently, his mother called the Fund and said: “Please tell everyone who helped – even with the smallest donation – that their kindness gave real results.” It was deeply moving to hear those words. We’re proud of you – our loyal friends. Thanks to your heartfelt support, we managed to raise the full 6,600 GEL needed to cover a month of Guram’s treatment.

Just a month ago, Guram was pale as a ghost and unable to open his eyes.

And just after one month he managed to do that – to open his eyes. He’s not as pale anymore. He looked at our reporter with real expression in his eyes. And best of all, the surgery to install the implant was successful. But all of that will be in vain if the family can’t pay the clinic’s fees next week. Right now, Guram’s life depends on another 6,600 GEL. 

You can see it in his eyes – he’s pleading for help. Losing Guram now would be a terrible injustice. He hasn’t had a chance to truly live – hasn’t started a family, hasn’t held a child in his arms, hasn’t felt the joy of fatherhood.

As a reminder: Guram fell ill in his sleep due to intoxication. In his sleep he didn’t even realize what was happening. His brain was starved of oxygen, and he slipped into a coma. No one believed he would survive – but God worked a miracle. And now it’s your turn, dear friends, to be part of a miracle. Let’s help Guram recover and reclaim his life. SOS! SOS! 26-year-old Guram Khachidze – a young man full of life – is now unconscious, and even hospitals are refusing to admit him. Saint Barbara’s Day turned out to be fatal for Guram. His desperate mother is on her knees, begging you – people of God – to help save her son.

Four months ago, on December 17 – Saint Barbara’s Day -Guram’s life changed forever. He celebrated the holiday the way it’s usually done in Georgia – with plenty of food and drink – but somehow, Guram was the only one who got sick. He fell into a deep sleep, and during the night began to vomit. It seemed like nothing serious – but his airways became blocked by saliva, cutting off oxygen to his brain. And just like that, this handsome young man fell into a coma.

His hands are now clenched so tightly that no one can even straighten his fingers.

This strong young man has withered away to skin and bones.

Day and night, his loving mother caresses her son – her whole world.  Everything in their home has already been sold. With her last bit of money, she pays 6600 GEL a month just to keep the love of her life alive.

Friends, there is now a glimmer of hope to help Guram get back on his feet. A special implant has become available – it can be used to treat his brain! But it costs $3,000, and the family simply doesn’t have that kind of money.  Today, this is the price of his life.   Please, don’t forget that.

God be with you, Guram! Lord, lift this young man back to his feet, and fill our hearts with enough compassion not to let him die!       

We don’t know why officials at the Ministry of Health refuse to fund his treatment – but we promise to find out. And if Guram recovers, we will demand accountability from those who treat human life as worthless. It’s important that you, our friends, also know this: The professors who volunteer their time to help the Fund believe this treatment can work! What joy that would be!   Live, Guram—don’t give up!
