Our Irakli is only 12 years old. He wants nothing more than to live and enjoy every moment of his life — but the condition that has altered his face has turned that life into a nightmare. This is the age of innocent love and friendship between girls and boys.  Such a handsome boy… Oh God, how much he’s suffering!  May no child ever have to go through something like this. Today, this boy is afraid to step outside his home. How could Georgian doctors treat his illness and never mention the possible consequences? Thank you, Lord, that we, dear friends, are not those doctors! And our hearts are with you, dear boy! We will fix everything! In Turkey, your beautiful lip can be restored – no problem! A few years ago, a hemangioma (a large red birthmark) appeared on his face. Over time, it grew into such a terrible problem that the poor boy stopped going outside during the day—just to avoid being seen. The mirror has become his enemy. His lower lip is so swollen that he struggles to eat and can’t even fully close his mouth. But the worst part is that he’s begun to hate himself. He believes no one could ever love him like this. Irakli asks his mother every single day: “Mom, don’t you love me anymore?” God… how much pain and tragedy is hidden in that one sentence.

This single photo captures more pain than a thousand words ever could. It was taken by our Fund’s reporter at the exact moment he arrived to meet Irakli. Yes… Irakli standing all alone, while joyful children laugh and play behind him. This isn’t a scene from a movie or a painting. This is reality. A cruel, heartbreaking reality.

He only steps onto the football field when it’s empty. In those quiet moments, he imagines what it would be like to play football with other kids. Sometimes he’s the goalkeeper. Sometimes a striker. Sometimes he even scores a goal.   These imaginary games last only a few minutes – but during those minutes, he is the happiest child in the world.  Then the fantasy fades, and the harsh reality returns: an empty field… hopelessness… despair and pain.

Irakli’s carefree childhood ended in 2021, when a terrible red mark appeared on his beautiful face. He underwent 23 laser treatments, sclerotherapy, numerous injections – but nothing helped.  The mark shrank, but his lower lip began to grow uncontrollably. And that’s how this green-eyed boy ended up living a real-life horror story – only in his case, there’s no end in sight.

This photo is another reminder that dogs are truly a gift from God – sent to heal broken hearts and stay beside us when everyone else turns away. After all, it is said that God created man in His own image and likeness. And yet, how often have we seen people turn their backs on one another? But have you ever seen a dog abandon a human being? No—never. And still, we call them “animals.”

Near an amusement ride where Irakli was standing alone, a group of dogs noticed him and began playing with him. Stray dogs—the same ones who were once thrown out by people and left to roam the streets. But these abandoned dogs never abandoned Irakli. Every day, they wait for him outside his house, hoping to see their friend again.

Irakli watches people from a distance. He doesn’t dare come closer – he’s afraid his appearance will frighten them.

Oh, who knows what fire burns inside the heart of a 12-year-old boy?

Irakli (12-year-old): “When I see people, I lower my head so they don’t see my face. Unlike other kids, I don’t wish for expensive things. I don’t even dream of Disneyland. My only dream is to have a face like other children… and not be afraid to look in the mirror. Am I asking for too much?”

This is newborn Irakli. At that time, there was just a faint mark on his face. Who could’ve imagined that years later, this would steal away his entire childhood? But no! We must not allow that to happen.  Irakli has already lost four years of his childhood. Sadly, no one can give those years back – but we can give him a future. A happy future. A future this sweet, kind boy truly deserves.

In Turkey, doctors have guaranteed a full recovery! But we need to start raising money now—to make sure all these terrible photos become just a memory.

We will personally oversee every step of the treatment. One of the volunteers is a widely respected medical professor in Georgia – a humble man who avoids the spotlight. He does everything out of kindness, from the heart – and asks for nothing in return. He’s already in contact with the Turkish hospital, and we have full confidence that Irakli will receive top-level care. And we all care deeply about this boy.

This is Irakli’s baby brother Gabriel- just 18-month-old. Their poor mother doesn’t even have money to buy food for him. The family survives on whatever they can get from a local social canteen.
 Is that a life?

When our reporter spoke with Irakli, the boy said: “If I don’t get to the soup kitchen in time, I’ll have no food until tomorrow.” So the reporter hurried there with him. This photo shows the moment Irakli came out carrying the food.

In a plastic bag – just a few pieces of bread. And in a small box – some yogurt soup. This is all that three small children in the Tabatadze family have to eat for the whole day.

Broken windows, sealed with tape instead of glass. Old wooden windowsills infested with worms. This one window alone tells you what kind of home this is. And the worst part? The Tabatadze family doesn’t even own it. Homeless, they are now crammed into a dark, damp room—and pay 300 GEL a month in rent just to stay there.

This image captures a stolen childhood. Dear kindhearted people, we believe that you won’t turn away from the pain of 12-year-old Irakli. We believe you won’t leave his struggling mother alone in her fight. Mothers, let’s stand together. From this moment on, Irakli is our child. Let’s free him from his suffering – together.
