The man who was the backbone of his family is now fighting for his life. We must help this hardworking man – because he has no one else to rely on but us.
REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO GOD!
Koba is 52. He’s a tractor driver – the kind of man who woke up before the sun and returned home later than everyone else. He never complained. Not once.
He was the pillar of the family. The man neighbors looked up to. The one who could do everything: plow a field, repair a tractor, build a house, comfort someone in trouble.
He was unbreakable in kindness and in work – until fate finally broke him.
In March 2025, a sudden stroke hit him as if time itself decided to stop a man who had never stopped on his own.
Now Koba sits in a chair, searching for words that once flowed easily and confidently. His hands shake. His heart is enlarged and beats in a ragged rhythm.
Koba whispers: “I can still… I can still manage…” even though he knows the illness has stolen his strength.
Beside him is his wife, Elene, 50, who is barely holding on herself. Quiet, gentle, never refusing anyone. She has insulin-dependent diabetes and high blood pressure, yet she can’t even go for basic tests – they don’t have the money.
Every day Elene cooks, washes, cares for her husband, watches the granddaughter. Her heart hurts too – not on a medical scan, but from fear of losing the man she has spent her whole life with.
The family lives in an old, rented house paying 200 lari a month. With each passing month that amount feels like a wall they can no longer climb over. After Koba’s stroke, every last savings went to medications.
Koba’s sons work from early morning until late evening, just as their father taught them. But today the land brings no income. They earn too little even for a month’s worth of food. Some days, the refrigerator is painfully empty.
And yet Koba – the same Koba – lifts his eyes every evening and whispers to his family: “Whatever happens, don’t lose heart.” These are the words of a man standing on the edge himself, yet still trying to hold up those who cling to him.
This little angel is Koba’s granddaughter, Barbare. A clever girl who tried to smile in front of her grandfather, but the moment she saw me – the foundation’s reporter – she quietly asked: “My grandpa will get better… right?”
The man lies on that awful metal bed, his bones aching. But worse than the physical pain is the pain in his soul. Yes – this kind, hardworking man has a wounded heart.
And this little angel tries to heal his wounds with her small embraces. God, how powerful love can be.
Barbare, with her bright eyes, holds his hand all the time, as if afraid to let it go. She’s shy, looks away a little, but still agrees to answer a few questions.
“Auntie, when your grandpa was sick, how did you help him? Teach me. I also want to help my grandpa get better,” the little girl said quietly.
– Who do you love most in your family?
Barbare answers softly, but firmly:
“My grandpa. I love him more than anyone.”
She gently hugs his neck, pressing close as if trying to give him all the strength she has.
– And what would you want for him right now?
The girl looks at her grandfather, choosing her words with care, and whispers:
“I want him to be strong again. So we can go to the field and play like before.”
She squeezes his hand again – a tiny hand in a big, weakened one. And in that moment, it becomes clear: sometimes real hope lives in a child who believes enough for two.
Koba has never been a man who asks. He spent his whole life giving – his hands, his strength, his time, his heart. But now fate has left him with no choice: the hand that once built and worked must, for the first time, reach out for help.
And only we can change their tomorrow. We can help Koba buy his medication. We can give this family food, so the children and granddaughter don’t go to bed hungry.
Every act of help is more than a transfer. It is a piece of hope returning to a man who always gave more than he received. If you respond, you won’t just save Koba. You will hold together an entire family that still leans on him – even when he is holding onto life with his very last strength.
If you are willing to visit this family and help them in person, here is their address: Adigeni Municipality, village Varkhani.
