Auntie, my hands are scraped raw from collecting scrap metal. I’m raising money for my mom’s surgery so she can walk again.” – Grigol, 7 years old
REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO GOD!

A single image that speaks louder than any words…
An image that will remain in memory…
Grigol, 7-year-old: “Auntie, my hands burn from the pain and the cold. When we look for scrap metal, some pieces are sharp, and sometimes my hands even bleed.”

Grigol and his brother, Malhaz, 9, go out together to collect scrap metal. With their tiny fingers, they dig rusty, heavy pieces of iron out of the ground and load them into an old cart.

The sack of scrap metal is heavier than the children themselves. Their lower backs, spines, and arms ache – every part of their bodies hurts – but still, they do not give up. Just imagine what hardworking, strong men they will become when they grow up – worthy sons of their homeland and of God.

They peer into the sack full of scrap and try to estimate how much iron is inside, hoping to guess how much money they might get…Ah… poor children… They look at that sack of scrap as if it were filled with gold.

Malkhaz ,9-year-old: Sometimes they give us 5 lari, sometimes 10 or 15. If we’re lucky and find heavy iron, they’ve given my brother and me even 30 lari. But we don’t buy anything for ourselves. I don’t even have a warm winter sweater. And my little brother has no boots…” (the child whispered softly, tears welling up in his kind green eyes).

Fund journalist:“Children, why do you collect scrap metal if you don’t buy anything for yourselves?” At that question, the brothers sighed heavily – as if letting out their breath along with their small hearts.

Friends of the Fund, the reason is this: The boys’ mother has been unable to walk for six years. She can move only with crutches—and even then, just a few steps at a time.

Her name is Tamara, and she is 33 years old. She once suffered a hip dislocation. Then, at the age of 27, a failed surgery turned her young life into a living nightmare. Today she is classified as a third-degree disabled person.

Grigol: “I am 7 years old now. I’m a big boy already, and I know that Mom hasn’t been able to walk for six years. That means I was only one year old when it happened to her. When I was little, I didn’t understand why Mom didn’t play tag or dodgeball with us – with me and my brothers – like other moms do.”

Poor Mom cannot even tie her own shoelaces. Tamara urgently needs arthroplasty – the replacement of a damaged joint with an implant. If the surgery isn’t done soon, the damage to the joint will become irreversible, making it impossible to ever fit an implant. You likely understand what that means, dear friends… effectively, it will be a “one-way ticket to hell” for the rest of her life.

Tamara, 33 years old:“Because of my illness, my children suffer as much as I do, perhaps even more. My disability has robbed them of their childhood. Or rather, they never truly had one. Now, both the children and I have one last chance at a dignified, human life, but…”
The cost of the implant is approximately 20,000 GEL. The Ministry of Health covers only the surgery itself. What can I do? What is there left to sell? We are living in a relative’s house.

Grigol craves roasted meat, but…

Endless thoughts… a sorrowful gaze… a tiny heart full of pain… no hope… no faith… and yet, Grigol is only 7 years old.

What we are about to tell you will bring you to tears. Our little Grigol has had epilepsy since birth. Sometimes the seizures are so severe that he is only one step away from death.

Lord, protect this little angel and keep him in Your mercy.

Nine-year-old Malkhaz also has health struggles; he needs regular speech therapy. God, how “black and white” life is for this green-eyed child.

Our little champion! At the Fund, we believe the football world may be witnessing the rise of a new Maradona in Malkhaz.

May you have many more victories, our strong boy!

But instead of a football pitch, Malkhaz headed out to the “scrap metal yard” again today. The child has only one goal: to collect enough money for his disabled mother’s surgery so she can walk again.

Instead of toys, seven-year-old Grigol holds scrap metal in his tiny hands.

Grigol has poured his emotions onto a piece of paper. Other children rejoice at the coming of the New Year, but Grigol knows that Santa will leave him without a gift again this year. That is why the boy won’t stay up until midnight or look for a present in the morning.

What did this little angel do wrong, that life condemned him to such suffering at such a tender age?

The poor brothers sat like that for a long time in the winter frost, right on the ground, waiting for a scrap metal truck to pass by. The poor brothers sat like that for a long time in the winter frost, right on the ground, waiting for a scrap metal truck to pass by. Sadly, all the effort they put in that day went to waste. They cannot reach the collection point themselves because it is in the neighboring village.

Oh… who knows what fire burns in the heart of this poor boy.
Dear compatriots, kind-hearted people, friends of the Fund, I beg you – look closely at this photograph. What do you see in the eyes of seven-year-old Grigol? What do you see in this boy’s gaze? It is as if the child is reproaching the whole world with his eyes…

And yet children never ask for anything for themselves, even when they have no winter clothes, shoes, or toys.

These little angels have only one wish – to save their beloved mother. Kind-hearted people, even your smallest donation will not only save 33-year-old Tamara from lifelong disability but also give these poor brothers the childhood they never had.

Let’s save Grigol’s mom!
