Giorgi is only 16. A kind, warm-hearted Georgian boy, he was traveling as a passenger to his village, dreaming on the way about seas and oceans – about the life he hoped to live one day as a sailor. But only God knows what lies ahead for us. Today, God Himself has placed a choice in our hands: whether this boy will live – and what will become of his dreams.

At sixteen, Giorgi should have been choosing a future profession – not standing on the edge between life and death. But in a single second, high in the mountains, everything was taken from him – except his last hope.

On November 15, 2025, he was traveling to the village like any ordinary passenger, unaware that this trip would turn into a fight for survival. There were three people in the car: the driver, aged 23; his 16-year-old friend; and Giorgi – the youngest. On a sharp mountain turn, the brakes failed… and the car plunged into a ravine.

Doctors in Georgia gave little hope for survival. The only lung surgery was performed as a last, desperate attempt. Giorgi was literally balancing between life and death.

On November 18, he was urgently transferred to Turkey. He was connected to life-support machines and placed in the intensive care unit. His small, still-childlike body was fighting for the most basic right – to breathe, to remain in this world. 

He had dreams. Simple – and immense at the same time. After school, he wanted to enter university and become a sailor. To go out to sea, see other countries, earn an honest living, and be a support for his family.

Today, instead of ocean horizons, Giorgi sees hospital walls. Instead of a map of the world – a map of pain. And instead of a path toward a profession – a path of rehabilitation that may become the hardest journey of his life.

Today, Giorgi is in a hospice in Tbilisi. His life is no longer in immediate danger. But ahead lies the longest and most difficult road of all: the road to recovery. A road of pain, patience, and endless rehabilitation. Whether he will walk again remains uncertain.

One thing is certain: he cannot walk this road alone. This boy did not ask for such a trial.

Today, he asks for just one thing – a chance.
A chance for rehabilitation.
A chance to move.
A chance to live without constant pain and dependence on others.
Today, that hand can be yours.
