Mommy, Mommy, put boots on my feet! Just like my brother’s – the magical ones! I want to run like him too! I don’t want anything else! Please… please! – cries the soul of little Andria.

While other children run, laugh, and play, four-year-old Andria crawls, helping himself with his hands, while his weak little legs drag helplessly behind him across the floor…   

Oh, those little legs… Oh, those “magical” boots that allow other children to enjoy life!  Mommy, please… please! It brings tears to everyone who witnesses it.

It is impossible to witness this without crying, dear friends. This beautiful, blue-eyed little angel urgently needs our help. Andria must be taken to a doctor immediately – otherwise, very soon we may see this child in a wheelchair. 

Nikoloz (9-year-old): “I love my little brother very much. I feel so sorry for him because he can’t walk. I play with him all day so that he doesn’t cry…”

Tamar, 35 years old (Andria’s mother): “When I was pregnant, the doctors didn’t tell me that my baby had serious problems. He was born premature, at eight months. And was immediately diagnosed with terrifying diagnoses: spina bifida and hydrocephalus. It was a shock. When you’re not prepared, accepting this is almost impossible.”

Look – this is what spina bifida looks like. It is a congenital spinal defect in which the spinal cord does not develop fully. Because of this, Andria’s legs do not respond.

On the third day of his life, the baby underwent his first surgery – on his spine. A month later – brain shunt surgery. Then another one.

Tamar (35-year-old): “Andria spent the first two months of his life in the hospital I was allowed to see my son for only five minutes a day. And what is five minutes for a loving mother?” Tamar says this – and the pain of those days still lives in her eyes.

The boy urgently needs:

• medical examinations
• MRI scans of the brain and spine
• tests
• rehabilitation

But the family survives only on social allowance. 

Tamaz (35-year-old): “The doctors say Andria has a real chance to stand on his feet. Maybe with crutches. But the chance exists! Please, help my son!”  

The mother cannot find peace – fear never leaves her. The last time she took her son to a doctor was three years ago. If help does not come now, the child may be permanently confined to a bed.

Tamar, 35 (mother): “I want to take him to the doctor… but for years now I haven’t been able to. There is simply no money. The same with rehabilitation. I want to help my son, but I have no means…”

Andria’s father collects scrap metal to feed the family.

It is exhausting, backbreaking work – searching for metal for hours, carrying it on his shoulders, selling it for pennies. 

With the money he earns, he buys only the bare essentials: food and diapers for his son. Diapers alone cost 50 lari a week.
For this family, that is an enormous amount – money earned at the cost of aching hands, a damaged back, and a father’s hope that today he might manage to earn at least something.

Three children are being raised in this family. They live in a dangerous, crumbling house, whose roof could collapse at any moment.

If we join our efforts and support these kind, hardworking people, they will finally be able to begin building a new home.

They need sand, cement, and building materials – your help can turn their dream into reality.

Nikoloz (9-year-old): “I’m afraid that one day the roof will fall on our heads… I want us to have a new house, but my parents don’t have the means to build it.”
