99-year-old Rusudan has only a little time left before her 100th birthday. Will we be able to celebrate her centennial not with flowers on her grave, but with a birthday cake and one hundred candles in her beautiful yard? The answer to that question now depends entirely on you.
REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!
Our support for this heroic woman is now a matter of life and death. WITHOUT HER MEDICATION, HER LIFE WILL SOON BE IN DANGER, AND SHE SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD IT.
As I, a journalist from the Chernovetskyi Fund, made my way to visit 99-year-old Rusudan, I found myself thinking: “She is probably bedridden and unable to walk.” Or perhaps: “Maybe she can still move, but surely her memory is fading with age.” But when I opened the gate, I could hardly believe my own eyes.
“Sitting in a magnificent flower garden was a 99-year-old woman who did not fear death – in fact, she longed for life. In front of me was a woman whose eyes told a story of living history, stretching from 1926 to 2026.”
No, you are not mistaken.
Rusudan Kapanadze was born on September 7, 1926, in Tbilisi, into an educated family. Although Soviet life was often painted in darker shades, Rusudan’s childhood was bright and full of promise. As a young woman, she received the finest education of her time, and her beauty dazzled people brighter than the sun.
Friends, do not think this photo has been enhanced by artificial intelligence. This is the true beauty that Providence itself bestowed upon Rusudan.
But outward beauty fades… while the beauty of the soul remains untouched by time. Yes… as Rusudan shared moments from her life with me, I realized that her true treasure, her greatest gift, is her endlessly kind heart.
Rusudan, 99: “It was wartime. I was only 14, and I helped people however I could. My neighbor was pregnant, and her husband was away fighting in the war. Those were incredibly difficult years. At just 14, I delivered that woman’s baby myself. I washed blood-soaked cloths with my own hands. That family lived in desperate poverty. I would not touch food at home until I had first brought them hot soup.”
Grandmother Rusudan showed me the garden she still cares for herself at 99 years old.
The fragrance of its colorful flowers was enchanting.
But these are not just flowers… It is this 99-year-old woman who gives them their “strength to breathe.” And yet, she herself is now struggling to breathe.
Fund journalist: “Grandmother, there is so much I want to ask you that I don’t even know where to begin. You are a precious treasure to me.”
Hearing these words, I saw a smile touched with tears appear in her sea-colored eyes.
Fund journalist: “Grandmother, will you tell me your love story?”
Rusudan, 99: “Without love, life is like a black-and-white painting. There are so many colors in this world, but I invented a new one – the color of love. My grandson died young… And now, hearing you call me ‘Grandmother,’ my heart feels as though it could leap from my chest.”
When she began talking about her late grandson, I saw an unbearable pain in her eyes, so I gently tried to guide the conversation toward something lighter.
Fund journalist: “Grandmother, what advice would you give to young people?”
Rusudan, 99: “Give love, give love, give love. A whole sea of love… For God Himself is love. When a person’s heart is closed to love, it means they are closing the door to the Lord Himself.”
“This is a photo of me and my husband, dear. He was a pilot. Oh, if only I could bring those days back for just a moment… I wouldn’t be afraid to die after that.”
There is nothing in this world sweeter – and at the same time more bitter – than nostalgia.
Friends, this wonderful woman needs medication. The government covers part of it, but her pension is not enough to pay for the medicines that are not included.
She felt ashamed to ask for help, but her desire to live was stronger. Yes, right now, the only hope for Rusudan, born in 1926, is you – the friends of the Fund.
Even your smallest contribution is more than simple help. It is a chance to fulfill her greatest dream – to live to see her 100th birthday.
Rusudan, 99: “My dear, when this article is published, someone may think: ‘She has lived 99 years and is still fighting for life…’ Ah… perhaps those people are right, but… but…” The elderly woman sighed and could not continue. With trembling hands, she wiped away the tears that had filled her eyes, and only then did she go on…“99 years have passed as though they were the dream of a single night.”
“I woke up, looked in the mirror, and instead of a beautiful face, I saw wrinkled skin… Even my eyes have lost their emerald color… But the one thing I have not lost, even after 99 years, is the desire to live…”
“I still want to see the sun… I want to keep enjoying the scent of the flowers I planted myself. I want to continue thanking the Lord for every good morning. I want to sit once more on the wooden bench by my gate, watching young lovers and rejoicing in their happiness.”
Fund journalist: “Grandmother, if you could turn back time, what would you change in your life?”
The elderly woman grew thoughtful… Her gaze fixed on one distant point. In the reflection of her eyes, I could see her reliving her life, frame by frame, many years into the past…
Then she whispered: “There is no person who would not wish to change something in their past, even the smallest thing. But this world is great precisely because no one can turn time back, not even for a single moment… And in return, the Lord gave us the power to choose what we do with every following minute, hour, week, month, year – and even an entire century.”
“Yes… In just a few months, I am meant to turn one hundred, but who knows, my dear, whether I will reach those hundred years without your help. These thoughts did not drive me to despair – they pushed me to search for a way forward. And that, after all, is what the Lord teaches us.”
“In searching for that way forward, at 99 years old, I learned that the Chernovetskyi Fund exists, whose friends care for the elderly in a truly special way.”
“Who knows, dear… perhaps by the time this article is published, I may no longer be alive… Perhaps the medicines I so desperately need will not reach me in time.” – Rusudan, 99.
Kind people, I, as a journalist for the Fund, promised Rusudan that we would publish her story immediately. And we have kept that promise. But the most important question she asked still remains unanswered. Will we be able to provide this heroic 99-year-old woman with the life-saving medication she needs?
Will we be able to celebrate her 100th birthday not with flowers on a grave, but with a birthday cake and one hundred candles in her beautiful yard? The answer to that question now depends entirely on you.

BIBLE
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” (Proverbs 19:17).
To our Lord, there is no such thing as “small” help, just as there is no such thing as “small” compassion or a “small” prayer. To Him, who loves you personally, nothing is ever “too small” if you offer your whole heart in sympathy to the suffering – both in the moment of helping and ever after.
Remember, God cares for your soul above all; He looks for the aid that comes from the very depths of your heart. Give whatever you can, so that you may never look back and regret a heart left cold.
Friend, as soon as you feel responsible for another person and his pain, at that very moment you will become a different person – a person close to God!
