Omar got a severe injury and lost his sight. To pay for treatment and eye surgery, they had to sell all the property and go live in a rented apartment.
Among all 500 beneficiaries who are cherished by the Chernovetsky Fund, there are many outstanding people who at one time made a significant contribution to the development of our country. Unfortunately, now they are living in poverty, forgotten and abandoned … And only our Foundation helps them survive in this difficult time for Georgia.
One of these people is Omar Quenadadze. He bears the honorary title of Honored Builder! More recently, Omar took part in many grandiose construction projects throughout the country, erected houses and schools, built entire neighborhoods. He has many thanks and diplomas, but most of all he is proud of the diploma he received for building a philharmonic in Tbilisi! Lobster keeps this already battered piece under the pillow and cherishes it very much.
At the time when Omar worked, neither he nor his family needed anything, but one unfortunate day changed everything – Omar got a severe injury and lost his sight. To pay for treatment and eye surgery, they had to sell all the property and go live in a rented apartment.
And then Omar developed a disease of the vessels, and the family spent the remaining funds to fight this terrible disease, which literally devoured Omar from the inside. But the disease did not recede, and both legs were amputated to the unfortunate old man …
The family was left without a livelihood. For a rented apartment to pay was nothing. Lobster and his wife Zina remained in the lurch!
Now Omar and Zina are crammed into a tiny room of 8 square meters without any amenities. All the meager pension of these poor old men is spent on medicines that support the life of the seriously ill Omar. They feed on food that they bring once a day from the social canteen.
“It’s terrible what happened to me, it hurts me so much that because of me my family was left without shelter … I built houses and schools, huge residential arrays and kindergartens … Thousands of people live in apartments built by my hands, and I live out my days in a rented room, in complete poverty … I am very sad that for me there was not even a small dwelling in this big city! ”- this gray-haired old man with tears in his eyes says.
It is very hard to listen to these words from an old feeble grandfather, who devoted his whole life to his native beloved city!
To support Omar and at least ease his life a little, our Foundation has already provided them with assistance, but as you understand, such people always need support! Therefore, we again announce a charity campaign to raise funds for the purchase of essential medicines, food and hygiene products for Mr. Omar!
Believe me, your most insignificant help, your slightest attention will make life easier for Omar and give him hope for a decent old age!
