We wouldn’t wish a life like this, even on our worst enemies. An 85-year-old mother, so frail and hunched she’s nearly bent to the ground, ready to die a thousand times – but never leave her sick, 60-year-old son behind

Her son, Pridon, is 60 years old. He has insulin-dependent diabetes, during his service in the Army he suffered serious brain damage. He mostly gets around in a wheelchair! Sometimes he tries to walk, but it’s quite hard for him. His speech is slurred. And what’s hardest to bear – he sometimes becomes severely aggressive. He’s a Group 2 disabled person, and he likely doesn’t realize that around his mother, not only should he never raise his voice – he should barely even breathe. If something happens to his mother, his life will end in an instant. Because his 85-year-old mother suffers from atrial fibrillation and dangerously high blood pressure.

They live in heartbreaking poverty, in complete disrepair, inside a rusty old train carriage. There’s no one to help them but us, friends.

Dear donors,
During a meeting at the foundation, we decided to purchase medications, groceries, beds, a washing machine, a gas stove, an electrical kettle, a bread-maker, chairs, drawer, telephone. To install windows and doors.
We’re turning to you for advice – your opinion matters to us. Please let us know in the comments if there’s anything we’ve overlooked that could help improve the life of the Shekildze family.

Meet, friends, and show mercy! We ask, we ask the Lord, to show a miracle in this family! They are dying! Try to live the life of these wonderful people for at least a few seconds! The parents are very, very good, but seriously ill and deeply unhappy! They gave birth to three boys and all of them suffer severely from mental problems and serious illnesses, but even exposing themselves to fatal consequences, they help mom and dad with their last strength! They live on pennies, but they are not even able to turn to someone – write a letter! We visited them and were horrified!

Three seriously ill brothers are collecting scrap metal to avoid starving to death! They urgently need food and medicine! They will die without our help, without any exaggeration! Nino, mother (55 years old): “We hand over scrap metal, sometimes they give us 3 lari for it, sometimes 20. You know how offensive it is when children ask for food, but are unable to understand due to illness why I sometimes don’t even give them a piece of stale bread! It’s offensive to the point of tears!” These are 17-year-old twins Niya and Nikoloz. The boy was born in a sitting position, the birth was very difficult, the child was taken out with forceps. Due to oxygen starvation, Nikoloz suffered brain damage.  Poor, poor Nikoloz! The boy doesn’t speak and can’t do anything on his own. His mother has been looking after him like a baby for 17 years. But the worst thing is that she has two more of these “grown-up babies”! Shotiko suffers from asthma attacks. He had meningitis as a child. He doesn’t speak, just one word: “mom.” He communicates with his family using gestures.

Only pain, devastating poverty, and suffering! The Lomtadze family has three gravely ill children. All three suffer from brain damage. What could be more terrifying for heartbroken parents? To make things worse, their father, after suffering a stroke, is now confined to a wheelchair and is unable to help his children. Right now, they have no medicine, no food. Only you, kind-hearted people, can help this family escape this living nightmare!

After his stroke, Tariel is completely helpless. His right arm is paralyzed, and later, due to gangrene, his leg had to be amputated. For him, every day is a fight for survival. For his family, it’s a constant battle with fear, uncertainty, and the pain of being unable to help.

Aluna, Tariel’s spouse (49-year-old): “My husband and I are raising three children with disabilities.  Our daughters were born with intracranial pressure; they have brain damage. They can’t do anything on their own—I take care of everything: I dress them, feed them, bathe them, brush their teeth. And I’ve been doing this for 17 years.  What wouldn’t a mother do for her children? My husband used to help, but now he needs care himself. His heart couldn’t bear the pain of watching his daughters suffer.”

Aluna: “The children need medicine to improve their brain circulation, but I haven’t been able to buy any for a year and a half because we have no money. I can’t go to work – who would I leave my sick children and husband with?”

The poor man spends his days in an old wheelchair, which is falling apart. Just look at it – the wheels don’t even have tires. Every little bump causes him unbearable pain. Friends, Tariel urgently needs a proper wheelchair! But there’s no money to buy one.

It’s been a whole year since Tariel last left the second floor of their home! The last time he needed to go to the hospital, they had to call emergency rescuers just to carry him out of the house. Can you even imagine that?

Luka and Keti are watching their beloved father slip away before their very eyes! A once-strong man, still so young, is now gasping for air—his heart has doubled in size, crushing him from within. He can’t breathe, can’t move and is gasping for air. He was the sole provider for his family, and now, there is no family in Georgia poorer than his. Can you imagine the agony he endures? And worst of all, his children are watching helplessly, unable to do anything, remembering the days when he was still playing and laughing with them.

Niko has spent his whole life working tirelessly, using every cent to support his children and care for his ailing father, who is disabled. Then, one fateful day, his world collapsed. Step by step, his ability to move faded. Breathing became a struggle. His heart, after just two steps, felt as if it would explode from his chest. How many times have strangers had to bring him back from the brink of death?

Once full of energy, he can no longer even rise from the couch on his own.  His heart is twice the size it should be.
You, dear reader, surely know what that means… A ticking time bomb inside his body. He can barely breathe. He’s suffocating. And his family—too poor to afford even an oxygen machine.

Nikoloz (38 years old): “I was a craftsman, but now I can’t do anything at all.  I need a heart transplant to survive—but that costs a fortune. I’m clinging to hope, kind-hearted people… maybe someone, somewhere, can help me at least with medications.”

Urgent help needed! Our compatriot, fighting for his life, has been left without any support from the Ministry of Health in a foreign country—Turkey—despite doctors in Georgia pleading with the Minister to help him! The most horrifying part is that, trusting his government’s promise to provide funding, this unfortunate young man is about to be discharged from the hospital. In just a few days, he will find himself on the streets—where he is unlikely to survive even a day or two—because his elderly father has no money to bring him home to Georgia! $15,000—is the price of his life. But does the Ministry even care?

Mamuka fell into a ravine from a height of 30 meters. The base of his skull was fractured, and his spine shattered. You can probably imagine what that means… For a young man who fell from such a height, survival seemed almost impossible. Despite this, an emergency surgery was performed, even though the doctors had no hope of saving him. But a miracle happened—Mamuka survived. Although Georgian doctors managed to save his life, his injuries were so severe that treatment abroad became necessary. Friends, what I’m about to tell you will break your heart. Our brave Georgian spent only three days in a Turkish clinic. Now, he lies in a tiny hostel room in Turkey, still fighting for his life. Do you know why? Because his poor mother ran out of money to pay for the hospital… You can guess what happened next. For over a month, this son of Georgia has been suffering in a shabby room far from home, enduring constant pain. His only caregiver in this battle is his mother. Mamuka is completely paralyzed…
