Zviad lost control of his car and plunged off a 35-meter cliff. In accidents like this, people don’t survive. But he did. BUT IS THIS REALLY A LIFE? His children are suffering. The whole family is suffering. It’s a nightmare.

Zviad, 40: “I suffered a head injury and broke my spine. My ribs punctured a lung… I had two surgeries. On the fifth day, I woke up in intensive care and realized – I’m alive! I thank God! And I beg Him to give me a second chance. I cannot bear the suffering of my loved ones if I don’t get back on my feet!”

Almost nothing is left of the car – just a twisted piece of metal.

Zviad, 40: “If you showed this place to a thousand people, not one would believe someone could fall from there and survive. Not one.”

God loves you, Zviad!

His 9-year-old daughter helps him get dressed.
His 5-year-old son brings him water for his pills and covers him with a blanket.

He is a loving father of three little children. And he keeps whispering to me (the journalist): “Friends, I am a father of three, and I must survive for my children. My family needs me. I’m afraid to even imagine what will happen to my little ones if I’m gone.”

Elene, 9: “Daddy used to walk with us in the park, lift us up, laugh… Now he can’t – he has no strength. I miss those times so much.”

Elene, 9:   “Please help my daddy. I dream that he will stand on his feet again.”

Levan, 5: “Daddy, when will you be able to walk again? I want to play football with you!”

Right now, Zviad cannot walk. He is chained to a wheelchair and endures unbearable pain. He cannot lift his children in his arms.

He sometimes develops bedsores. They burn and hurt – every movement becomes torture.

This young man has to live with a cystostomy and a catheter. Every movement causes pain — even just sitting down or turning over.

The doctor said: “You will never walk again.” But Zviad did not accept this sentence. After a course of rehabilitation, he began to move his leg. Sensation is slowly returning.

But to walk again – and not turn into a living corpse – Zviad needs rehabilitation in Turkey: modern robotic therapy that is not available in Georgia. The cost of three months of treatment is $25,000. These three months could change his life.

The family has already sold everything they could. Except perhaps the wheelchair under the unfortunate father…There is nothing left to sell. There is no money left – only hope. Hope in us – kind friends.

Zviad (40-year-old): “May the Lord send peace to your families and protect you from such trials. I wouldn’t wish what I’ve been through even on my worst enemy.  You are my last hope. I believe that if everyone donates even 1 lari, we can raise the amount needed for treatment.”

Levan, 5: “More than anything in the world, I want my daddy to stand on his feet again!”

Salome, 36 (Zviad’s wife): “Before the tragedy, my husband was completely healthy. He worked as a builder, did renovations, and was the sole breadwinner of our family. We miss his support so much. Every day I tell him: ‘You will walk again for sure.’ I applaud every small victory. He moves a finger — and I rejoice as if it were already a step.”

Look at your children. Now imagine you cannot walk up to them. Cannot lift them.  Cannot take them to school.

Zviad lives with only one thought:  “I must stand up for their sake.”

Tamila, 61 (Zviad’s mother): “It is unbearably painful to see my son in this condition and not be able to help. It feels as if we have fallen ill ourselves, watching his suffering. I have hernia and osteochondrosis. My husband’s heart cannot withstand it – he has suffered a heart attack and has had six stents implanted. Our hope is in God and in kind people.”

He survived by a miracle. Now he needs a miracle from people. If each of us donates even a small amount, we can help this father of three children stand on his feet again.
