REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

She couldn't even mourn her son properly. It all happened so fast! The house burned to the ground in a matter of minutes and turned everything that had been built over years of hard work into ashes. But does that matter at all when fire kills the kindest and most caring person?

"That's the only way I can hug and kiss him... This should have been my photo"

- Gulnara, I know it hurts you to recall that fateful day, but I have to ask.

Gulnara: On December 30th, when we were preparing for New Year, nothing foretold bad luck. My son, rest him in peace, woke up early in the morning, as usual at 6:30, showered, and got ready for work. At that time, something collapsed on the second floor, and I heard my neighbors screaming: "Fire, fire." We ran out into the yard and saw smoke billowing from the roof, but there was no fire. My son ran into the house to get his work papers and he couldn't get out. I wanted to go in and rescue him, but the neighbors wouldn't let me in. They said maybe he had jumped out the window, maybe he was already out ... and I believed them. I wish I would have gone in and burned with my son. I would have been a happy mom. No mother should mourn her children! It's not fair.

The fire consumed everything in minutes. Everything that had been built up over the years

The family's whole life turned to ashes

- God, what you've been through...

Gulnara: I didn't even see my son's body, they brought Giorgi's charred bones in a closed coffin for half an hour and then buried him. I don't know why I'm still alive. I don't know what keeps me here. Every day I pray to God to take me to my boy. But he doesn't, so I must stay here.

The fire has no mercy! It killed the kindest and nicest man

- Do you have other children besides Giorgi?

Gulnara: Yes. I have a daughter who works abroad, and her daughter - my granddaughter - lives with me. Her uncle was the closest person to her. After his death she is in a terrible state. She withdrew into herself, she does not talk... Giorgi was such a wonderful person! He didn't have a family of his own, and he did everything for me and his niece. He adored us. Everybody loved him. His neighbors, his colleagues...

"I would have been a happy woman if I'd burned with my son"

-  And what documents did he go to the burning house for?

Gulnara: He was a probation officer. He graduated with honors from law school, he loved his job. I don't know, he had some work papers at home, and he went to get them...

- Your house is in ruins, you have everything burned down... how do you live now? Who sheltered you?

Gulnara: Now I live with my neighbors - they gave us their bed. As you can see there is nothing left in my house. What to do, who to ask... when there are so many starving children in Georgia, how can I impose my problems on anyone?

"Maybe it's possible to fix up just one room"

- Is there any way we can make your life easier?

Gulnara: I don't even know what to ask for... I dream of fixing at least one room. For me and my granddaughter to have our own bed. So that I wouldn't have to go to my relatives and neighbors to bathe - I need a gas boiler. I would appreciate any help. I also need a small table and chairs... I can't even think of anything else. I've never been in need.

"Every day I ask God to take me to my son"

- Can you tell us about your family?

Gulnara: I got widowed early. Giorgi was three years old then. My husband didn't die of his own accord either, but in an accident. A pole collapsed on him at work, and he died on the spot. His body was also mutilated...it is like a curse. My husband was 35 years old. When Giorgi grew up, we told him: "Get married! You're so good, any woman would be happy to marry you, she would be like a queen next to you" . Do you know what he answered? "Maybe I'll die young, like my daddy." Can you imagine? He seemed to foresee his death.

"Why didn't I turn to embers, too..."

- What do you live on now?

Gulnara: I only have a pension of 295 GEL. That's all. Our neighbors and relatives help us, but who can help forever? Let me tell you one story. A few days before he died, my son bought me three months' worth of medications. He never did that. He brought a whole bag and said: "Now I can die in peace. Now you have medications for a while" he said it in jest, but do you see what happened? Now I'm finishing the last of the pills my son bought me... as if he was looking after me from there, too.

After these words Gulnara burst into tears. We sat hugging each other for a long time, and I could not find the words to soothe the burnt heart of this unfortunate mother.

* * *

What to say, what to think of... we can't heal the wounds of the loss of her son, we can't replace her son, but together we can ease her suffering. It's as if her beloved Giorgi is taking care of her with our hands. As if we were all his friends and had come to visit his mother. Any little thing could be of vital importance to her. She has nothing left.

Beds, bedding, a table, chairs, any appliances, dishes... this is an incomplete list of what Gulnara needs now. Can we also help her restore at least one room?

If anyone is willing to visit and help them in person, here is their address: Telavi, Kvemo Khodasheni village.

Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone's prayers through you!

We are sure that all together we will manage to save them from imminent death.
