REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!
In the Gavtadze family, an angel was born 14 years ago!
She was a girl of incredible beauty, with her blond hair and sparkling eyes. However, this enchanting princess was faced with a challenging trial. Nino was born with one leg that was 4 centimeters shorter than the other.
Doctors bombarded the poor mother with alarming statements until Nino turned 14! Some said the girl would be crippled and unable to walk, while others “reassured” and said that the leg would have to be amputated, as it would only be a hindrance. But Nino continued to grow, and her leg grew shorter and shorter, and the padding on her shoe became thicker and thicker.
This last pair of shoes has such a high platform. The difference between the legs was 18 cm before the surgery!
Rusudan: The past year has been a true trial for us. Since May 2022, we have had to go through four extremely difficult surgeries. Right now, in order to equalize the length of Nino’s legs, she wears an Ilizarov apparatus, which gradually lengthens her bone. “I feel like an Iron Man,” she sometimes jokes. We are nearing the end of our journey to health, as next month she is scheduled for the fifth and final operation. But right now, we are in a situation where we lack the means. It is precisely now that we cannot gather the amount needed for the last operation.
“I can’t even imagine removing this metal construction someday”
– Rusudan, what were the most difficult moments for you and Nino?
Rusudan: The most difficult moments were during the surgeries when Nino was on the operating table. It’s a mixed feeling – when you have been waiting for this all your life, and now you’re afraid that something might go wrong. But Nino would reassure me, saying that it won’t get worse.
It’s hard to believe that in just a year, doctors were able to ‘stretch’ this young beauty’s leg by 18 centimeters
– Behind your daughter’s fragile appearance is a true fighter!
Rusudan: Nino is our hero! She can be an example for anyone facing difficulties in life. She always finds strength within herself to cope with pain and challenges. She doesn’t let her physical condition define her life. Nino always finds joy in little things, like her hobbies, and dreams about the future.
Mom and Dad are doing everything possible to help their little daughter stand on her own feet and make steps without pain
Nino: I’m lucky in life to have both loving parents and friends! I have many friends who have supported me since childhood and never let me feel lonely. They are the best!
– Nino, how do you cope with the difficulties that arise due to your physical condition?
Nino: I simply don’t pay attention to it. I don’t give up. It can be painful and difficult at times, but I believe that everything will be okay. I have people who love me just the way I am.
“The most important thing is to have people who love you for who you are”
– What do you enjoy doing?
Nino: I used to enjoy drawing, but now my bracelets help me express myself and forget about the pain. I even thought about selling them on social media. But for some reason, it didn’t work out.
“I love reading… with this metal construction, there’s not much else I can do”
– You have a wonderful hobby. What are your dreams for the future?
Nino: I dream of becoming an actress or a journalist. I don’t know why, but I really want it.
“I wanted to sell my creations through social media, but for some reason, no one showed interest”
– You have an amazing daughter! What moments in Nino’s life bring you special pride and joy?
Rusudan: I’m proud of every step she has taken on her journey. It’s challenging for her, but she never gives up. Another person in her place might not even be able to stand up.
Who knows the effort Nino puts into every step… but she endures and persists towards victory… She is a hero!
– You addressed the Fund for help. What is the most important thing for Nino right now?
Rusudan: In September, the final and most complex operation awaits Nino. They will remove Ilizarov apparatus from Nino’s leg and insert a plate. It’s no joke – in just one year, doctors worked a miracle by lengthening Nino’s bones by 18 centimeters! And that’s it! That horrible footwear will be left in the past! How she dreams of wearing beautiful sneakers! We can’t wait for that day to come!
The future of this beauty is in our hands. We must not abandon her near the finish line. She must not lose this competition, where the prize at stake is her health and a happy future!
Nino’s story is a story of fortitude and the power of a dream. Despite all the challenges she has faced, she has never given up and continues to forge ahead. Nino envisions a future where she can walk without hindrance and embrace her talents. She is a true hero, and her mother, Rusudan, stands as a steadfast source of support. As Nino nears the conclusion of her arduous journey towards health, she now relies on our help. With the upcoming fifth and final operation in September, she aims to achieve equal leg length. This pivotal step will unlock the doors to a vibrant and fulfilling life. We implore you to open your hearts and extend a helping hand.
Your contribution holds the power to turn Nino’s dream into reality. Let us join forces to grant her the gift of walking freely and attaining her aspirations. May every donor heed the call within their hearts and join our crusade for the well-being of this extraordinary young soul.

! God bless you!
But from now on our princess is smiling and happy!
Oh, how many tears the lovely Nino has shed in her little life! She couldn’t go to school, run around the streets with friends, wear short dresses and shorts, all because of her left leg, which was 4 centimeters shorter than her right one at birth. Over the years, this difference grew to 18 centimeters! To move around somehow, Nino wore a boot with an 18-centimeter platform on her left leg!
Now, this horrible, ugly boot is sitting idle. Nino doesn’t need it anymore! After the fifth surgery, which was funded by the Fund and its readers, Nino’s life changed dramatically! She is back to school, can wear ordinary sneakers and clothes of any length. Nino is truly happy, and her whole family rejoices.
Before the operation, Nino did not go to school. She was withdrawn and suffered a lot
You brought Nino back to active life, where there is no place for tears and suffering!
– Rusudan, our heartfelt congratulations! I can imagine your emotions when the biggest challenges are behind you.
Rusudan, the mother: By the time you came into our lives, I was already in very bad condition, to be honest. The thinnest line separated me from madness. I managed to get into one loan, and if I had taken two more, I wouldn’t have been able to pay for the fifth surgery. You know that it is possible to help a child, but you can’t because of money. And you can’t do anything about that. And if you don’t do it, all the previous efforts and hard work will be lost. Thank God for your projects; they saved us! I’m at peace now – thanks to you, we made it.
– How did the surgery go? We want to know.
Rusudan: Mr. Janer, who had already operated on Nino four times, came from Turkey. We trust this doctor; he guaranteed a complete recovery, and everything is going as planned. I was nervous, of course, worried about how Nino would handle the fifth anesthesia. In the previous time, she took a long time to come out of anesthesia. But thank God, everything went well, without complications. The surgery took about 2.5 hours at the Bokeria Clinic. My husband and I prayed, asked the Lord for protection and a happy outcome.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone for helping to cover Dr. Janer’s fee – seven thousand lari – and giving my daughter the opportunity to stand firmly on her feet and lead a full life!
– Nino, were you nervous?
Nino: Just a little bit.
Rusudan: That’s what she says now. She cried a bit in the hospital room before the surgery, but I quickly cheered her up. There were other patients of Dr. Janer in the room – little children. “If you cry,” I told Nino, “others won’t go for surgery.” My daughter is such a brave girl; she has gone through so many trials.
In this surgery, they removed the Ilizarov apparatus and placed a platinum plate in her leg. Now, the difference between her left and right legs is half a centimeter, but it will gradually disappear. Nino hasn’t fully straightened her leg yet – it’s still a bit painful for her. She just had the surgery at the beginning of September.
For Nino, having the Ilizarov apparatus removed from her leg is a great joy and relief.
I consider it a tremendous achievement. For many years, I worried about my daughter, and I couldn’t imagine when and how our dream would come true. And now every day I see this dream that came true, and I want to wipe my eyes when Nino goes outside to school to make sure it really happens. It’s amazing!
Nino started going to school on her own! Isn’t it a miracle?!
Of course, there is still some pain in her leg, and she needs support. If we give Nino massages, her recovery will happen twice as fast!
You helped bring it to completion. You helped make the dream come true. I want to wish the Fund’s readers that health is never their dream, that it never once bothers them. From my side, I’m ready to serve and help each of you who encounters a challenging situation.
– Nino, how do you feel now that they’ve removed the Ilizarov apparatus from your leg?
Nino: I feel freedom and joy. I’m more relaxed, not self-conscious.
Like any beautiful girl should, Nino now thinks more about pretty outfits, friends, and lessons, and less about her illness. And you played a huge part in this!
Rusudan: Nino didn’t show it, but the apparatus on her leg made her very uncomfortable. She always tried to hide it under wide pants when she went outside in front of the house.
– Well, is it time to throw away the ugly boot with the huge heel?
Nino: Let it stay for now until I fully recover, and then I’ll take it to the trash.
Nino doesn’t need that boot anymore!
– What was the first thing you did when you started walking without a walker and without the apparatus?
Nino: I went to school. I hadn’t been there for a year and a half. The kids were so happy – they missed me a lot. And I missed them too. Everyone has grown so much, changed, it’s unbelievable! 10th grade. It’s great to be with everyone! I was tired of being alone at home.
– Nino, did your friends visit you in the hospital after the surgery?
Nino: Of course. Tiko and Goga came to see me, they are the closest ones. They brought me balloons and a soft toy. It made me happy.
– Have you worn your new clothes to school yet?
Nino: This year, the school asked everyone to wear uniforms. But I bought some unofficial clothes for myself – shorts and fancy blouses. I’ve wanted to wear something like this for a long time. A big thank you to the readers for my new clothes! I wear them when I hang out with my friends. The coolest thing now is that I can wear regular shoes, just like all the other kids.
Nino can now wear regular sneakers and fashionable shorts, which she took advantage of right away. And the scars from the surgeries are only temporary!
– We are incredibly happy and excited for you! Rusudan, did the local authorities get involved in any way during the project? Considering that it received such significant feedback from readers.
Rusudan: In that regard, I don’t have any news for you. As always, we solved all the problems without their involvement.
– What are the doctor’s recommendations that Nino needs to follow to make a full recovery and rehabilitation?
Rusudan: Nino needs massages. It’s part of the rehabilitation after the surgery to help her leg straighten without pain. If it’s possible, I might need to reach out for your help regarding this. I will earn money, albeit modestly, for some food.
You have brought Nino back to an active life, freeing her from tears, pain, and embarrassment. Now she wears beautiful shoes instead of an ugly boot which is about to go to the dump. We can do another good deed for her – give her a course of therapeutic massage to speed up her recovery.
