She never ran, never danced, never knew the joy of simple walking. Instead of easy steps, painful movements, instead of games in the yard, tears and falls.

Since birth, her life has been endless hospitals and operations.

Two operations on the legs have already been performed, and there is even a small result. But the doctors insist: new, more complex interventions are needed, which cannot be done in our country.

The girl recently fell down the stairs and broke her little face. It seems that fate is testing her strength again.

For a family from a small village, where Khatia’s father works as a simple loader, and her mother does not leave her daughter’s side day and night, this amount is unaffordable.

Khatia has another person whose heart beats in unison with her pain – Grandma Khatuna. She is ready to give everything for her granddaughter. She holds her hand, whispers words of comfort and believes that a miracle is possible. “Do you have a grandmother? The love between a grandmother and a granddaughter is a special love. I live for her,” – says Grandma Khatuna with tears in her eyes.

And Khatia herself quietly asks: “Auntie, when will I be able to walk normally? I want to walk by myself… I want to play like other children.” And the heart breaks from these simple childish words.

The family did everything they could for Khatia. But even if they sold everything they had, it would not be enough to save her childhood.

Friends, we must not allow her life to pass in a wheelchair and hospital wards. Every day of delay is another opportunity stolen from Khatia to take a step.
