After his stroke, Tariel is completely helpless. His right arm is paralyzed, and later, due to gangrene, his leg had to be amputated. For him, every day is a fight for survival. For his family, it’s a constant battle with fear, uncertainty, and the pain of being unable to help.

Aluna, Tariel’s spouse (49-year-old): “My husband and I are raising three children with disabilities.  Our daughters were born with intracranial pressure; they have brain damage. They can’t do anything on their own—I take care of everything: I dress them, feed them, bathe them, brush their teeth. And I’ve been doing this for 17 years.  What wouldn’t a mother do for her children? My husband used to help, but now he needs care himself. His heart couldn’t bear the pain of watching his daughters suffer.”

Aluna: “The children need medicine to improve their brain circulation, but I haven’t been able to buy any for a year and a half because we have no money. I can’t go to work – who would I leave my sick children and husband with?”

The poor man spends his days in an old wheelchair, which is falling apart. Just look at it – the wheels don’t even have tires. Every little bump causes him unbearable pain. Friends, Tariel urgently needs a proper wheelchair! But there’s no money to buy one.

It’s been a whole year since Tariel last left the second floor of their home! The last time he needed to go to the hospital, they had to call emergency rescuers just to carry him out of the house. Can you even imagine that?

Their living conditions are heartbreaking. The woman, who suffers from spine issues, sleeps on a wooden couch; they need beds, mattresses, and warm clothing. The roof leaks so badly that during rain, water pours inside as if they were outdoors. The windows are old, broken, and drafty, making the room freezing cold. They don’t have a heater or firewood; a kind neighbor lent them a heater, but they must return it in ten days, and they’ll be left shivering.  If they fall ill, they won’t have money for fever medicine. Winter is approaching, the weather is worsening, and rain is frequent, making it harder for them to leave the house. Nona and Nino don’t even own warm jackets!  Our support is more crucial than ever for these two vulnerable women. They are waiting for the support of Chernovetskyi Fund friends.  Let’s help them through the winter – let’s give them a chance at life.

Reziko cries without ceasing. It’s not even a cry, it’s more of a moan from the pain in his spine. He can’t lie down or sit for long periods. The boy is constantly tense and can’t even straighten his fingers. It’s hard to believe, but Reziko was born perfectly healthy. Due to a medical mistake, he became disabled in an instant. Gulo (mother, 33 years old): Reziko is my first and long-awaited son. He was our joy. He grew up to be a smart boy, but when he was eight months old, he got very sick and his ears hurt a lot… I’m sorry, I can’t tell this story without tears. There’s a lump in my throat.

Mariam is sick with all the diseases of the world! There isn’t a single healthy spot on the small, tormented body of this unfortunate child! She was born with multiple diseases: everything hurts the girl! Her liver was located in the intestine, she has multiple heart defects, an open arterial duct, urinary tract infection, pneumonia, multiple rib fractures… She spent 6 months in the intensive care unit. She fought for her life, battled with death, and survived. Her mother was told that the girl is under God’s protection because children like her usually never survive.
