Miraida is only 14 years old, and her life has been a series of heavy trials. First, she lost her father and became an orphan. Now, she is facing a terrifying illness—stomach cancer. Miraida endures everything patiently: the IV drips, the injections, and the painful dressings. How does she find the strength to fight in her exhausted body? She was being treated in Georgia, but after her condition worsened, she was transferred to a clinic in Turkey. Now, she is undergoing chemotherapy there. Miraida is tired of hospitals and dreams of one day living like other children. She is so weak that she couldn’t speak with our correspondent. Her mother tearfully shared that Miraida struggles with chemotherapy: she can’t eat or drink.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!

Lela, Miraida’s mother (52 years old) Miraida lies in bed all the time, constantly sleeping. She has no energy and finds it hard to walk; she takes five steps and then falls. She has had four chemotherapy sessions. The doctors are optimistic, but they say the treatment will be long. We may have to stay in Turkey for a year.  But where will I find the money for medications and rent? My heart is breaking!

Miraida’s mother is disabled; her left arm was amputated. During the coronavirus pandemic, she developed thrombosis, and the doctors had to cut off her arm at the elbow. Now, as her daughter fights this terrible illness, she encourages her mother, saying that they will get through this together.

Can you imagine how difficult it is for this unfortunate woman, who has lost her arm, to cope with such immense grief all alone?

— Lela, how can we help you and Miraida?

Lela, mother (52 years old): I don’t have money to buy the expensive but very important medicine for my girl. Stopping the treatment now means condemning her to death. I don’t know what to do! My husband died in a car accident 14 years ago. I’ve raised Miraida in orphanhood all alone. Up until now, my daughter and I haven’t asked anyone for anything. I’m very embarrassed to say this, but we need the help of kind people. We have no one else to turn to!

— What do you fear the most?

Lela, mother (52 years old): What I fear most – is ending up on the street with my sick child in a foreign country. We can’t afford to rent an apartment in Turkey. My disability pension isn’t enough to live on.  Right now, a kind Georgian woman has taken us in—she also came here for treatment with her sick child. In two weeks, they’re leaving, and I have no idea what will happen to us after that. We’ll probably end up sleeping on the hospital stairs!

— How did you first learn about the disease?

Lela, mother (52 years old):

Two months ago, my daughter caught a cold and had a severe cough. The doctors said it was a virus.  But she kept getting worse, so we had to transfer her to a hospital in Tbilisi. During the examinations, they found out she has stomach cancer. Oh God, I can’t understand how this happened—she had never been sick before!

Look at our beautiful girl—this photo was taken before she got sick! Miraida is incredibly lucky because she has us—people with kind hearts. Together, we can save her.

Miraida can beat cancer, but only if we all come together and give her this chance. Let’s help Miraida together!

When she grows up, Miraida can bring the joy of family life and new children into the world, just as beautiful as she is. But this deadly cancer threatens to take that away. Who will win—life or the disease? It doesn’t just depend on the girl’s strength. It depends on kind people who will help her through this difficult time!

Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone’s prayers through you!
