Lamara is 92 years old. Look at her swollen, tear-filled eyes. This unfortunate, bedridden, elderly woman cannot buy eye drops to avoid going blind, which cost only 7 GEL. Lamara: “I’m lying here hungry, in a freezing house, my dear. I’m utterly exhausted. Eating even once a day is a blessing for me. I can’t move around on my own. My son and daughter-in-law take care of me, but they both have health issues and can’t work. We survive on my pension and social assistance. My son has had two spinal surgeries – he needs help himself. We have only one hope left—you, kind people!”

Lamara is 92 years old. Look at her swollen, tear-filled eyes. This unfortunate, bedridden, elderly woman cannot buy eye drops to avoid going blind, which cost only 7 GEL.
Lamara (92 years old): “You won’t find anyone in Georgia more desperate than me. My life has become a struggle for each new day.”
– What’s bothers you?
Lamara: “I’m lying here hungry, in a freezing house, my dear. I’m utterly exhausted. Eating even once a day is a blessing for me. I can’t move around on my own. My son and daughter-in-law take care of me, but they both have health issues and can’t work. We survive on my pension and social assistance. My son has had two spinal surgeries – he needs help himself. We have only one hope left—you, kind people!”
Lamara: “They say people like me are ‘neither alive nor dead.’ I’ve worn out my family with my moaning. I constantly apologize for causing them such discomfort, but what else can I do? I’ve been to 10 hospitals, but nothing has helped. I have diabetes, and my whole body itches terribly, from my toes to my head. Aren’t there any medications in the pharmacy for this itching? I also desperately need painkillers. Please, help me! Can you help me get rid of this unbearable pain?”
In the photo, you can see a younger Lamara. She graduated from an agricultural institute and worked as an inspector, earning respect throughout Georgia. Even now, at 92 years old, she has a sharp mind and remains curious. She’s heartbroken because she doesn’t have a mobile phone. She humbly asks for an inexpensive button phone to call an ambulance in emergencies. She also dreams of a laptop so her son can work remotely and provide for their family.
Lamara: “Can you imagine living in this apartment? In these horrible conditions, with no heating or washing machine? You can’t imagine how hard it is to wash clothes without one!”
Lamara: “I haven’t gotten out of bed for three years. Three years! I’m completely helpless. I can’t even go to the bathroom on my own, so I rely on diapers. But diapers cost money—where can I get it? I never thought my old age would be so dreadful. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone!”
The family is at their wit’s end and on the verge of despair. They have no funds for Lamara’s treatment or medication. In their search for help and hope, they turned to our Fund. Lamara can live, but only if you extend a helping hand to her, dear friends!

“Thank you, my dear ones, for freeing me from suffering!” This remote-controlled bed is a miracle for Grandma Lamara!
REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!
Grandma Lamara: “I want to keep living and enjoying life now that I feel a little better.”
Grandma Lamara: “My dear, look how I’m lying – like a queen! This remote-controlled bed is a true miracle for my old bones. I’ve lived long enough to finally have a comfortable bed! It takes care of me all by itself – it sits me up, lays me down, even lifts my legs. I wish happiness, health, and long life to everyone who saved me from suffering!”
Grandma Lamara: “This bed is a miracle for my old bones. I feel like a queen lying here!”
“It takes such good care of me—sitting me up, laying me down, lifting my legs.”
“Mom loves matsoni with cottage cheese in a cup,” – Vakhtang, Lamara’s son says. “And a sandwich with boiled condensed milk. I’m about to give her a real feast! Here you are, Mom, enjoy! Look, I’ve filled the whole fridge with dairy products, plus cheeses, sausages, eggs, and canned meat. The Chernovetskyi Fund has some truly amazing friends – amazing! You are saving Georgian families from poverty!”
Grandma Lamara is as happy as a child over simple things – a sandwich with boiled condensed milk and a hot cup of tea.
Vakhtang, son: “I stocked the whole fridge with the dairy products my mom loves so much, but hasn’t had in ages.”
– Grandma Lamara, what medications do you take? Do you have everything you need?
Lamara: The Fund’s friends sent me everything. They cared for me – they didn’t turn away from my suffering. I have medicine for my blood sugar, my heart, herpes, and blood thinners. I take six pills at once. With medications, I feel better. Strangers even brought me ointments for itching and showed me so much care.
Grandma Lamara has all the medicine she needs. She can now ease her ailments—diabetes, herpes, arrhythmia…
Grandma Lamara: “My dear, thank you for giving my son a computer for work. He’s using it to look for job opportunities. But at night, I demand that he gives it to me! Hehe… It’s my companion for sleepless nights. I watch old movies on it – Keto and Kote, The Dragonfly. I even know how to use it a little bit. Imagine that—the daughter of a phaeton driver and a Tbilisi karachogeli now has a computer. Hehe!” (laughs)
Vakhtang received a laptop for work.
And at night, the gadget entertains Grandma Lamara—she watches old movies on it.
Grandma Lamara: “I keep pushing my daughter-in-law Natia! Now that she has a big new gas stove, I tell her—go cook something delicious! Thanks to all of you, I feel like living again! Even though I’m 92, life is so sweet when there are improvements and hope. I was about to die… When everything is bad—when you’re hungry, cold, and in pain—you think, If I die, so be it. It must be my time. But Grandma Lamara is not going to die! I want to keep living and enjoying life! Thank you, my dear ones!”
Now the house has a big new stove instead of the old, worn-out one. And Grandma Lamara is telling Natia to whip up something tasty!
Grandma Lamara: “Look at how you’ve helped us—you gave me this wonderful, marvelous bed! The new water heater works great. I love hot water. And living in cleanliness is such a pleasure.”
“I wish happiness, health, and long life to everyone who saved me from suffering!”
Grandma Lamara will now always have hot water.
– Grandma Lamara, how else can we make your life easier?
Grandma Lamara: “My dear, it’s really hard for us without a washing machine—please help if you can. And we’re also very afraid that we may soon be left without a home. We’re living in someone else’s house temporarily. Housing is our biggest problem right now.”
