In our times in Georgia it is very complicated to live… Even for an
absolutely healthy, educated and active person it can be complicated to find a
job and to sustain a family. Things get even worse if it is a lonely sick
person who cannot take care of himself because of his illness, who is despised
and avoided by everyone…

Our beneficiary, 64-year old Nugzar Nesterov is a physically disabled
person suffering with a serious illness – mental disorder, and there is nobody
to take care of him. Several years ago his mother died. Despite her old age she
did her best to take care of her ill son when she could.

Because of his health condition, Nugzar did not manage to have a family.
Today he lives absolutely alone, in one of Tbilisi districts, in totally poor
condition.

His only room is in unhygienic conditions; the walls are cracked, the
toilet is damaged beyond repair. In the whole apartment there is no furniture
but two broken beds, a chair and a kitchen table.

Health condition does not allow Nugzar to keep any connection with outer
world. Neighbors do not communicate with him, and he cannot get in contact with
other people all by himself.

As soon as our Fund learned about Nugzar’s story, we visited him
immediately, and started providing him with medicines and food. However, the
sanitary and hygienic conditions in his apartment are so horrible that it is
impossible to deal with them just by yourselves.
