“I Can’t Feel My Legs…”
REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO GOD!
Those were the first words 24-year-old Guram spoke after his friends dug him out from beneath a ton of earth.
Guram was about to jump into the river—but he never got the chance.
The moment Guram stepped to the edge of the embankment, the ground gave way beneath him. A massive landslide crashed onto his back, burying him alive.
His friends managed to dig him out within minutes. But his old life was already over.
“I can’t feel my legs… I’m so scared!”
For six hours, surgeons fought to save his life. They removed the shattered vertebrae and implanted a metal structure to stabilize his spine.
But even worse than the surgery was the pain.
Guram, 24: “At one point, I cried out to the doctors: ‘Just let me die… Please, make this pain stop.’ Later, I felt ashamed for saying those words. God spared my life. That means it wasn’t by chance. And that means I have to keep fighting.”
He was certain he would never take another step.
Then something extraordinary happened.
First, his left leg twitched.
Then more movement returned.
Today, the doctors say there is hope.
Not hope based on miracles. Not magic.
But on an extremely demanding course of rehabilitation, including specialized robotic therapy in Turkey that helps people with spinal cord injuries learn to walk again.
Sadly, Guram’s family cannot afford the treatment.
His father works as a security guard and earns just 300 lari a month. His mother cares for him around the clock.
Even moving from his bed into a wheelchair requires someone’s help.
To get from one room to another, his younger brother has to lift the grown man in his arms and carry him.
Guram does not dream of traveling. He does not dream of a car or of wealth. He dreams of taking one single step.
Guram, 24: “I want to work again. I want to support my parents myself. I don’t want to be a burden to them.”
Fund correspondent: Guram, what is the most important lesson life has taught you since that terrible day?
Guram: “I learned that life can change in a single second. Things don’t always happen the way we plan. That’s why we should always think carefully before we act. One reckless decision can change a person’s life forever.”
Fund correspondent: What would you like to say to the young people reading your story today?
Guram: “Take care of yourselves. Please don’t risk your lives for a few minutes of excitement. But if tragedy does strike, never give up. God loves us.“
Every day, Guram’s mother asks God for just one thing.
Rusiko, 59 (Guram’s mother): “I dream of the day my son takes his first step on his own. Perhaps then, for the first time in many years, I will cry not from sorrow, but from happiness.”
Friends…
Imagine, for just one moment, that this is your son.
He is only twenty-four years old.
Yesterday, he was helping his family, making plans, and dreaming about the future.
Today, he has only one dream: to stand on his own feet again.
And that dream is still within reach. But time is working against him.
Every day without rehabilitation reduces his chances of regaining what can still be restored.
Please don’t walk past his story.
Please help Guram take that first step.
Perhaps your kindness will become the very step that changes his life forever — and brings you closer to God.
If you are willing to visit the family and help them in person, here is their address: Senaki Mnicipality, village Akhalsopeli.

BIBLE
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” (Proverbs 19:17).
To our Lord, there is no such thing as “small” help, just as there is no such thing as “small” compassion or a “small” prayer. To Him, who loves you personally, nothing is ever “too small” if you offer your whole heart in sympathy to the suffering – both in the moment of helping and ever after.
Remember, God cares for your soul above all; He looks for the aid that comes from the very depths of your heart. Give whatever you can, so that you may never look back and regret a heart left cold.
And one more thing… it would be wonderful to stay in touch once they recover: to send them holiday wishes, to remember their birthdays, and to make them your friend. After all, there are so few of us left… and we have always been one family. Every time you reach out to a family in need, you will feel something incredible… as if you have spoken with God Himself! This is your chance to become the happiest person on earth. It is exactly through these steps that lives are truly saved.
Friend, as soon as you feel responsible for another person and his pain, at that very moment you will become a different person – a person close to God!
