While other toddlers are learning to say their first word, “Mama,” taking their first steps, and filling their homes with laughter, little Sofo spends every day fighting simply to stay alive.

She cannot walk.

She cannot talk.

She cannot wrap her little arms around her mother.

After a devastating brain hemorrhage and hydrocephalus, her brain was left almost completely damaged. Sofo is fed through a feeding tube. She can barely see, cannot move, and even a sudden fright can trigger another seizure.

She is only two years old…

Yet in those two short years, she has endured more pain than many people experience in a lifetime.

Her parents have done everything humanly possible. They took their daughter to Turkey for treatment, agreed to the most complex surgeries, sold everything they could, and spent every last penny they had – just to give her a chance.

But today, they have nothing left.

The fight, however, is far from over.

Sofo has never said the word “Mama.”

She has never run into her father’s arms.

She has never known the joy of a happy childhood.

But as long as she is alive, there is still hope.
