Their home burned down, only the walls remained. And this structure – which resembles a chicken coop – was built by the head of the family, Mikhail, with his own hands from “sticks and debris.” It’s better this way, they don’t feel homeless. “On November 22nd, I left for school from my beloved home, and while I was studying there, I turned into a homeless person. When I returned, everyone was crying, there was a lot of smoke, the house was burning, and I thought I became an orphan,” tells us 10-year-old Nodiko as he digs in the ashes, searching for something that survived from the burned-down house.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

Their home burned down, only the walls remained. And this structure – which resembles a chicken coop – was built by the head of the family, Mikhail, with his own hands from “sticks and debris.” It’s better this way, they don’t feel homeless.

In a matter of minutes 10-year-old Nodiko became homeless

“On November 22nd, I left for school from my beloved home, and while I was studying there, I turned into a homeless person. When I returned, everyone was crying, there was a lot of smoke, the house was burning, and I thought I became an orphan,” tells us 10-year-old Nodiko as he digs in the ashes, searching for something that survived from the burned-down house.

In the ashes, you can find remnants of a happy childhood

Nodiko (10 years old):  I found parts of my toy car here.  I used to have a computer too, but I can’t even find a tiny piece of it.  My mom says that if it weren’t for Tamara, my older sister, I would be searching for my mom’s bones here.  Just the thought makes my heart race.  It’s so scary!

– Oh, you’re telling me such horrors!

Nodiko: Yes, many days have passed, but my mom, remembering that dreadful day, starts crying.

“The children could have burned in the fire, but God saved them!”

– Irma, how would you describe that day when you lost your home and almost lost your lives?

Irma: November 22nd!  That day was absolutely horrific and will be etched in my memory forever. Nodiko was at school, while Tamara and Barbara were at home. Suddenly, sparks started flying out of the stove, one landed on the couch, and I covered it with a blanket, thinking I had extinguished it. But within seconds, boom!  The wood-burning stove exploded, and flames began engulfing everything around, the couch, the beds, the fire was creeping up the walls—I was just watching it all!  I saw my children manage to escape outside, but I couldn’t move, I was paralyzed with fear.  The fire surrounded me. I could feel myself burning, but I couldn’t do anything! I heard my children shouting from the yard, “Mom, mom, you’ll die, come out!”  Tears were streaming down my face, but I couldn’t take a single step.  Thanks to my daughter Tamara, who bravely decided to return to the burning house, I am alive today.

“Here was our room.  There was a big bookcase with books, and that’s where my sisters and I used to study, do our homework… and now only the walls remain!”

– What do you think saved you from a painful death?

Irma: I believe it was the courage and determination of my daughter Tamara. I still can’t understand where she found the strength and dared to save me.  Despite the danger, she gave me a chance to survive.

The burns on the leg and the scar on the hand will remind Irma of that fateful day for a long time. There’s absolutely no money for her treatment

Tamara (12-year-old): When I imagined that my mom could burn and how much pain she would endure, despite being very scared, I ran into the house and pushed her out of that cursed room.  And as soon as we got out, the old television exploded with a terrible crash, and the glass and metal embedded themselves in the walls.  If I had been a few seconds late, those shards would have killed my mom… even if she had been saved from the fire. I can’t recall that day.  Since that day, I’m afraid of everything, I can’t look at our house…

“To start living from scratch, you have to at least build a roof…and the rest will come with time!”

– Your situation is incredibly challenging as you start from scratch. What should mark the starting point of your new life?

Irma: I don’t even know. We’re starting from a clean slate.  We’ll have to rebuild everything from scratch… but where can we find that clean slate?  Our authorities have completely quashed any hope of restoring our burnt-down house.  They gave us 4,000 lari and told us, “Go away, so we never have to hear from you again.”  They treated us like vermin, I swear. But what is that amount supposed to cover? It’s not even enough to afford the cheapest roofing materials… we need at least twice as much. Our sole dream is to repair the roof and then gradually rebuild ourselves—rising from the ashes.

No windows, no doors – but at least there’s a roof! This chicken coop accommodates 8 people

– Where are you currently residing?

Irma: My husband built a room from “debris and planks,” and we call it the chicken coop. I don’t know how we all fit in here. Besides us, my father, brother, and husband’s niece also live with us. They are mentally ill and can’t take care of themselves. So, we look after them just like our own children. We have nothing of our own: no beds, no furniture, absolutely nothing!

My father, brother, and husband’s niece – they are like children. We have to feed, dress, and take care of them to prevent them from hurting themselves!

– What do you live on?

Irma: We receive allowance, and my husband engages in physical labor, although work is not consistently available…

Barbare (7-year-old): When my brother grows up and starts working, he promised to buy me everything that was lost in the fire.  Sometimes he says such kind things!

“When my brother grows up, he will buy us a new house.  That’s what he says”

– What do you want to become, Nodiko?

Nodiko: Well, I’ve thought about many things, but most likely I’ll become a fighter.  I love boxing and MMA.  You know, they earn millions if they fight with champions! Once I earn a million, I know exactly what I’ll buy for everyone.

– And what will you buy for yourself?

Nodiko: I won’t need anything anymore!  When you have a million, you don’t need anything else.

“I will become the strongest wrestler”

Irma: Despite our situation, my husband and I try not to show despair to our children. We strive to be strong and say that God sees how we live, how we try. He sees that we don’t need anything foreign, we don’t need anything extra… that’s probably why He sent you to us!

– Let’s summarize what you need to start a new life.

Irma: First and foremost, we need to repair the house. The walls, built during my husband’s grandfather’s time, turned out to be sturdy. We just need to plaster them. We are even willing to live on a concrete floor as long as we have a roof that doesn’t leak.   Furniture and appliances can come later. Either kind people will help us, or we’ll gather what we can from boards… we are even ready to sleep on the floor as long as it’s in our own home! We miss it badly.

“While my brother earns a lot of money, will you help us?”

Nodiko: Yeah… you can’t build a computer or a bike out of boards… it’s a pity. I used to have them. And I had many books.  A whole bookcase full of books.  And I had a writing desk too.

Barbare: Barbara: I used to have toys too, and I had beautiful dresses. But now everything I wear is torn.  Sometimes I can’t even mend them properly.

“We can only dream of the taste of candies”

Nodiko: Barbara, do you remember when Dad used to bring us candies?

Barbare: How could I forget… And do you remember Mom making pancakes for us, and we always had milk…

Irma: We had two cows and a pig. But after the fire, we had to sell them too, so we wouldn’t starve. We sold everything, everything burned down… but God saved our lives.

Today, we have the opportunity to change their lives for the better.  We can bring light into their dark days, give them hope and faith in the goodness of people. We cannot remain indifferent and simply watch as they lose everything they have.

The family needs to rebuild their home first, and for that, they need our help.  They are deprived of the most essential thing – a roof over their heads.  The roof will symbolize their new beginning.

Let’s unite and make our individual contributions to this story of revival. Every lari donated to them will bring them a drop of relief and faith that better days are ahead.

As the Lord says, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40) Join us today and make your contribution to the story of the Harebov family’s revival.

If you are willing to visit this family and help them in person, here is their address: Kintvisi Village, Kareli District.

Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone’s prayers through you!

We are sure that all together we will manage to save them from imminent death.

Please don’t forget to repost our story. Let your friends know about the grief of this family! It’s extremely important!

Out of joy, my children sleep cuddling their bikes!

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER  TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

Tamara: “At first, I was confused and didn’t believe it, but then all the joy burst out: my phone!”

“We had everything one should have in a peasant’s house: furniture and simple but functional appliances” – Irma says. We had livestock in our household – a cow, pigs.  And then everything turned into coal in a second – our house, our belongings… God was merciful that we didn’t perish in the fire ourselves.”

“Eight people were left without a roof, without a piece of bread, without clothes and shoes! We were grateful even for a glass of water in such a difficult moment,” Irma recalls. “But along with a full set of household appliances, you also brought bicycles for my children, which in our situation is a luxury. Kids hey didn’t even expect to get them from me. And here’s such joy! They almost sleep with these bicycles!”

Tamara: “Nodiko and Barbare are crazy about bicycles. They forget about everything – eating, studying; they just want to ride!”

Irma: I have seven people depending on me, three of whom have intellectual disabilities: my brother-in-law, father-in-law, and my husband’s niece. How can I take care of them without any appliances? Before the fire, I used to wash clothes in my “Oka-7”. It is a simple washing machine, looking like a tub, but it got the job done. Then I became the washing machine myself, doing everything by hand for a year until you set me free. Thank you so much! Now I can wash more clothes at once than I could with my “Oka”.

Irma: “For a whole year, I was the washing machine myself. The kids are happy that you set me free.”

Last summer, I struggled without a refrigerator. If we didn’t eat everything on time, by evening, all the food would go to waste. And the kids were outside all day, saving their food for later. And later there was nothing to feed them… Now I’m not nervous anymore, this problem has been solved. The gas stove hasn’t been connected yet, we need to lay new gas lines. Hopefully, everything will be sorted out with time. Right now, I rely on the will of the Lord and try not to fuss. Did you not come and help us by His will? That’s exactly how I see the response from the Fund’s readers. And you know, even little miracles happened!

“Now there’s no need to regret the broken refrigerator; the family got a brand new one from you!”

 – Tell us about it, Irma!

Irma: Before the start of the school year, in September, we didn’t even have a penny. The kids were feeling down – no new clothes, no stationery. My husband and I were unemployed, feeling low. And unexpectedly, one family – a couple with two kids, your readers, came to visit us at home. They brought school bags for everyone – Tamara, Nodiko, and Barbare – right on cue. A large supply of notebooks, pens, markers, food containers, water bottles… Toys, groceries, sweets… They asked what else they could bring. The kids immediately brightened up, sharing the stationery and sweets, happy and joyful. It was the most necessary and timely gift! I am sincerely grateful to this wonderful family!

And our Fund thanks these noble people for giving exactly what we missed! We don’t even doubt that it was providence of God! Thank you!

The children reacted very emotionally to the gifts, flying with joy.

Tamara (13-year-old): When they brought me the mobile phone, I was speechless, couldn’t even say a word! Then all my joy burst out, I was shouting throughout the house: “Mom, there is a phone for me!” And your employee – a blue-eyed uncle with a kind smile – was laughing a lot, rejoicing too.

Before, I couldn’t do any school assignments that were given online, so I skipped everything. Now I’m keeping up. And it’s really boring without Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger. Now I can post myself, read news, and call and chat with all the kids.

“Parents couldn’t afford to buy a phone, we only buy groceries. It’s great that you gave it to me, it’s very necessary thing!”

– Nodiko and Barbare, mom says you sleep cuddling your bikes.  How do you take care of your personal transport?

Nodiko (10 years old):  I wash it every day after riding, even if I’m tired. It’s always clean, like the day you brought it.  The bike is the best thing in the world! I can ride all day and my legs don’t hurt.

Nodiko: “I make sure my bike is spotless. I wash it the same day after riding.”

Barbare (8-year-old): I can ride all day too.

Nodiko: But I ride faster than you and make better turns.  You stop, adjust it, and then go on.

Barbare: I also wash my bike.

Tamara: These two are crazy about their bicycles. They don’t want to eat, they don’t want to study… As soon as they wake up, all they want to do is go for a ride as soon as possible!

Irma: Let them enjoy; we all need joy after the sorrow we’ve been through. I want to wish health, longevity, and happiness to everyone who has thought of us.  The Lord will surely bring you joy and reward, you’ll see. I want to wish prosperity and success to all families in Georgia! May we all live in a peaceful and prosperous country. May there be no poverty, unemployment, or hopelessness. How wonderful it is that among our people there are so many responsible individuals who think of others. We embrace all your readers!

After sorrow, you need joy, and sweets – are an excellent therapy!

“We embrace your readers and give them our hearts!”

– Irma, what is the current condition of your house, which survived the fire? What is needed to restore it, and what has the local government done so far?

Irma: After the fire, the district administration provided 4000 lari for a new roof within a month. However, we were only able to cover a small part of the house with it; there wasn’t enough funding for the rest.  And they’re not providing any more assistance. Right now, we’re worried about the rain damaging what’s been done.  We still need to cover two more rooms. We need building materials for the roof and walls; we need windows, doors, wiring… We don’t know when we’ll be able to return to our home.  We’re still living in a temporary structure made of boards, cardboard, and blankets.

The Kharebov family, who lost all their belongings in a fire, you provided emergency assistance to – helped to re-establish their household.  Thank you for your heartfelt response, friends!  The serious problem that remains is the fire-damaged house, which has been restored only a quarter of the way and needs building materials. Any contribution is important so that the family does not live in a shaky temporary structure, and returns under their own roof.

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better call any of our beneficiaries, and all your problems will seem unimportant to you, compared with the problems of those to whom you helped in the most difficult moment of their lives.

Our problems are nothing if compared… Here are true misfortunes, in front of your eyes! Just thank the Lord for what you have. You are the happiest person in the world! Remember this and help those in need.

Unfortunately, problems of this and other families do not end here and now… Therefore, from time to time, look through the stories of unhappy people on our website, talk to them. Every time you dial the Phone of an unhappy person, God is blessing you! For sure! Go on helping these families! This is the best service to the Lord!
