A gravely ill wife and her nearly deaf husband are starving, freezing, and battling illness together. They have no one to turn to for help- not even for life-saving medicine.

Ramaz is deaf in one ear, and his wife, Tsisana, is critically ill. They are living in a house that is literally crumbling around them. No food. No medicine. No hope.

Ramaz, 41-year-old: “I can’t hear from one ear… My disability pension isn’t even enough to buy food. We don’t have a stove. We don’t have a refrigerator… We have nothing.”

Ramaz has lived with a disability since childhood. He lost his hearing after an accident in a swimming pool.

His wife, Tsisana, is also disabled. She suffers from brain damage and needs daily medication – but they have been without it for two weeks.

Ramaz, 41: “The medicine costs 30 GEL… I simply don’t have that kind of money.”

Tsisana, 40-year-old: “I wash everything by hand in freezing water. My hands go numb from the cold – sometimes I can’t feel them at all. It’s unbearably hard… I have almost no strength left.”

They have no stove. They cook on a tiny gas cylinder that could explode at any moment. Every meal is a risk.

Look where they keep their clothes… They don’t even have a wardrobe. Their belongings are piled onto an old, broken bed.

 Their home has shattered windows. Water pours through the ceiling. It is freezing, damp, and unsafe.

To survive, Ramaz cleans cemeteries. He earns around 20 GEL for this backbreaking work – and that is all they have to live on.

They do not complain.

They simply endure.

Alone.
Forgotten.
With no one to help them.

We cannot turn away.
