We don’t have toys at home. They are probably scared of our home
REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!
Anastasia has had a sore throat for the second week now. She no longer has the strength to even cry. Swallowing and chewing hurt her. Even drinking water hurts.
Anastsia (6-year-old): Look, it’s like I have fire and knives in there. As if someone walks there and bites me. I can’t stand this pain anymore, even talking hurts me.
Ilina: Is this life? I can’t take my child to the doctor: there is no money either for a doctor or for transport. The neighbors said they would raise money and help us. God, not the kids! I am ready to get sick myself, not to eat myself, but the children… They suffer so much.
“There is no point in sticking it. A little breeze will break it again”
The house where we came to visit the Chkhetia family shocked us. We thought we got the wrong address. People cannot live in such a house. No one can live in such a house. House without windows, with cracks in the wall. The window openings are covered with old dense fabric. Cellophane gets torn quickly and there is no point in sticking it up.
– Ilina, how did you find yourself here? What is this building?
Ilina: This is my husband’s house. His mother lives here, his brother too, and we with our children. We have nowhere else to go. This house has not been repaired for more than one century and can collapse at any moment. Everything leaks, it blows from everywhere. It is simply impossible to keep warm in winter!
Anastasia: Our house is very scary. I think the reason I don’t have toys is that they are afraid to come to us. Sometimes I am afraid of this house too. When the wind blows, our walls whistle loudly, you know? Like this: “fu-yu-yu-yu-yu”, very loudly.
Ilina: My childhood was hard. How could I imagine that my children would live worse than me? My mother died when I was 12, and it was very hard for my father to raise me. I kept dreaming that I would grow up and become the happiest mother, that I would never leave my children.
Mom says it’s better to have a roof over your head. But Anastasia thinks it’s better to have dolls
Anastasia: Don’t even think about leaving us! Do not die! You know, sometimes mom collapses and doesn’t hear us. Sometimes she twitches very scary.
– What does she mean, Ilina?
Ilina: When I was pregnant with my second child, I had an epileptic seizure. Sometimes seizures repeat often, sometimes rarely. I know it can’t be cured, so I don’t pay attention to them. Now my daughter has a sore throat, and I don’t even have money to take her to the doctor. I don’t even know what’s wrong with her. Our neighbors said that they would help us.
Andria (5-year-old): And my tummy hurts, because I am hungry.
“This iron box is always empty”
– Ilina, you have nothing to eat?
Ilina: We have nothing to eat. Our only income is an allowance in the amount of 550 GEL. How can it be enough for six people? My husband had an accident two years ago and now he cannot work physically. Our situation was not that dire before – our children always had bread. My husband’s brother has health problems. He has problems with his head. In his youth, someone had beaten him, and since then, he has been behaving strangely – he cries, he laughs. That is how we live.
My mother-in-law helps me a lot. She is like a mother to me. I got married very young – at the age of 17. Now I am 23 years old. I was a child when I gave birth to children. My mother-in-law helped me a lot. She is so sweet, so kind. By the way, she introduced me to her son. She saw me, she liked me, and it was she who introduced us. She is like a mother to me.
This plastic box serves as the washing machine to this family
– What could be better when there is peace and love in the family?! But this is not enough to feed the children. What your allowance is enough for?
Ilina: Only for food. Our diet consists of potatoes, tea, and soups. Sometimes I buy dairy products for my children. Neighbors give us clothes. My children always want things that other children have. They ask me all the time: “Why does Marie have a doll and I don’t? Why does Lizi have beautiful shoes and I don’t?” It hurts to hear that. I explain them that we will have everything, we just need to wait. They used to believe, but eventually they stop.
Children no longer believe that someday they will live well.
– Ilina, did you address the local authorities for help?
Ilina: Yes. But what’s the point? Have you ever addressed them? People like us are nothing for the authorities.
– Does anyone help you? It is impossible to survive on 550 GEL.
Ilina: Even strangers sometimes help me. All the children’s clothes are from them. I never bought them new clothes. That’s why I addressed you. I am sure that if many people know about us, they will certainly help us.
“Probably not all children in Georgia are destined to live a happy childhood”
– How, in your opinion, can the Fund and kind people who learn about your problems help you?
Ilina: Oh, I always find it so hard to talk about it.
I need at least food. I really need clothes for children, shoes. We also need a washing machine and a TV. Oops, I am sorry, I talk too much. The list will be endless. God knows, I ask for help only for the sake of my babies. We are having a very hard time, and we will be grateful for any help. We have another very big problem: we need to fix the windows. Make some renovation if possible, or at least fill up the cracks.
“They just want to believe in a fairy tale”
– Do you believe in the kindness of strangers?
Ilina: Of course, I do. Otherwise, I would not contact you. Our acquaintances advised us to address your Fund when they saw our dire situation. I read your posts on Facebook and realized that there are many kind and helpful people in Georgia who are eager to lend a helping hand to a stranger.

Friends, this family has no one else to address for help. We are their last help. I would like to ask caring people for help so that they would help this family. They don’t even have home appliances that are common and familiar to every person. Lord, help these poor and suffering people!
This kind Georgian family needs any help: food, hygiene products, a washing machine, and toys. It would also be great if you could buy them bedding, a tablet, clothes, and shoes. Together, we will manage to help these unfortunate people, as we helped thousands of families in Georgia who were hanging between life and death.
If anyone is willing to visit and help them in person, here is their address: Zugdidi municipality, Kortskheli village.
Every time you can help someone, just do it, and rejoice that God answers someone’s prayers through you!
We are sure that all together we will manage to save them from imminent death.
