Poor and destitute Tamar has survived five strokes!!! Her body is worn out to the limit! Whether this kind, good woman – lonely and deeply unhappy – will go on living or die in misery depends on us!

Her husband — a sadist — abused Tamar so cruelly that he ended up in prison for five years. One of his brutal beatings caused a brain hemorrhage.  Because of a severe head injury, Tamar nearly lost her sight. No one believed she would survive. But God worked a miracle and saved the life of this mother of two, sparing her children from becoming orphans.

Only God knows what this poor woman has endured…  Even now, the consequences haunt her: five strokes, a brain hemorrhage, a heart attack.

Tamar (54): “My husband kept hitting me on the head…  I got a hematoma, and then a brain hemorrhage. The doctors said I didn’t even have a one percent chance of survival. But I survived. God loves me!”

— How long did you suffer the abuse? 

Tamar: Six years…

— Why didn’t you go to the police right away? 

Tamar: He threatened to kill me and the children. I was terrified…

After the strokes, Tamar lives in constant fear. Her face is paralyzed. She can’t feel the left side of her body. Her speech is slurred. The first time she saw her reflection after the illness, the shock was so strong she dropped the mirror from her hands.

She can barely walk – and often falls. Her body is covered in bruises.

Her eyesight is failing fast… She is nearly blind. Please, help stop this woman’s suffering!

Tamar: “I’ve run out of medicine… and I have no money to buy more.  I need around 400 GEL a month for my medication. But where can I get it if I can’t even afford food? One loaf of bread — that’s my food for three days. All I can do now is lie here and wait for the disease to take the last of my strength. If I stop taking my medication – I’ll die. My blood pressure spikes to 200 every day. God forbid I have another stroke… I won’t survive it.”

Doctors gave Tamar hope – rehabilitation could help her get back on her feet. For stroke survivors, it’s often the only way to return to a normal life. But Tamar has no money for treatment. She’s trying to survive on a disability pension and social allowance. Time is running out. We have to act now. Or we’ll lose Tamar forever. Right now, her chance to live depends on us. Don’t turn away. She needs your help to survive.

You’ll cry when you see this woman – who has suffered five strokes – washing clothes by hand with her only working hand. She doesn’t have a washing machine. She doesn’t even have hot water — the heater broke long ago. She can’t even bathe properly.

Her house has no windows, no doors. When it rains, water pours from the ceiling.

She sleeps on a broken-down bed…

Tamar lives completely alone. There’s no one to help her.  Her 16-year-old son lives with his father. Her 18-year-old daughter is married and caring for her newborn, unable to help. 

We believe there are kind hearts among you. You can help this woman who survived terrible abuse. Because it’s people like you who make this world a better, kinder place. You know better than anyone – there’s no such thing as someone else’s pain.
