“Auntie, when it rains outside, it starts raining inside our house too…” – thirteen-year-old Tazo says this as he places a bowl beneath the water dripping from the ceiling. 

For these children, every rainstorm brings fear. 

Fear that the ceiling might collapse during the night.
Fear that the damp, crumbling walls will one day come crashing down.
Fear that their mother will once again spend the entire night moving old broken beds around the room, desperately searching for a dry place where her children can sleep.

But there are hardly any dry places left in this house.

Four children live in this dilapidated house. Two of them suffer from serious neurological conditions caused by brain damage.

Their mother, Nino, has been living at the limits of human endurance for years. Exhausted and overwhelmed, she is raising four children on her own. Their father left and no longer helps the family.
Every day is a struggle: finding food for the children, keeping the house warm, and trying not to break down in tears in front of them.

Thirteen-year-old Tazo speaks with the seriousness of an adult:
“We get bread from a social canteen… Sometimes three loaves have to last us the whole day. But it still isn’t enough…”

There is almost no furniture in the house. No wardrobe.
The children’s clothes have been stored for years in old plastic bags and worn-out suitcases.

The children sleep on broken beds.

And the old gas stove is so worn out that their mother is afraid to use it.

Nino, 46 years old: “I’m afraid that one day the stove might explode.” 

And do you know what little Tamar dreams about?

Not about a phone. Not about expensive toys.

She dreams of a bunk bed so she can sleep next to her sister.
And a doll.

Tamar, 8 years old: “Other girls have beautiful dresses… I don’t have anything. It hurts because my mom can’t afford to buy me even the simplest things…”

After saying these words, Tamar lowers her eyes. And in that moment, your heart simply breaks.

Friends, these children urgently need help.

They need:
— repairs to the roof and reinforcement of the walls;
— children’s beds;
— a wardrobe;
— clothing and shoes;
— food;
— a gas stove;
— school supplies;
— at least one phone for the children.

Sometimes a child’s suffering speaks louder than words.

How can anyone look into these eyes and walk away?
Please help these children, who fall asleep each night fearing that the roof above them may collapse.

Give them a chance to feel happy, even if only for the first time in a very long while.
